Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

^haha lo Sai but I don't think India will be even able to win a test match with Ishant and Mithun, not at all.

Big question:
Where is Kulkarni?

If Harbhajan also doesnt play, I am sure we will not win a single test (though we could still escape with a drawn 0-0 series). Harbhajan could win us a game or two. With a second string attack, we will find it very hard to win a game. But this could be exposure for Mithun and a responsibility shouldering process for Ishant to see how he copes. Maybe it could spur Ishant to do something good.

Hope for the best!! Still 7 days to go!! and we will know whether Sree and Singh are playing or not!!

^He was, and that is 1 year back.
What now, he hasn't made his debut till now.

Kulkarni had a pretty average Ranji season. He doesn't regularly open the bowling for Mumbai either. He's more of a containment bowler and to press for a selection, you need to be a wicket taking option. Yadav is just that, even though he isn't quite there in terms of discipline just yet.

WTF!!! Sree back home, Zak back home.. All hopes now on Ishant and Few youngsters.

We can still win on our batting ability but this series will be real test to keep up the No 1 test status remembering India has not won a test series in Srilanka!!

India lost their 75 % chances of winning the series with this.
Probably if they'd be able to draw, it'll be like a win.:p

No I do not agree, This is the best series where young bowlers like Mithun will be under Dhoni's captaincy and might just nourish!!

Hope for the best!!

Lol Munaf is the replacement!! I thought it would be Irfan Pathan but Munaf.

Slow lazy bowler!! But they wanted an experience bowler hence Munaf is a nice choice.

Nehra where is he?

:crying:crying Bowling again in darkness!!

We laways hope for the best from youngsters and they usually ends up giving performances like:
  • T20 World 09 and 10
  • Last ODI against Africa 2010
  • India in Zimbabwe

Irfan did awesome during Down Under Test Matches!!

I don`t think this is necessarily very bad for us. We might at wose end up losing this series but if it helps give some of the bench bowling a chance We could always go back to Zak and Nehra and PK before the world cup but tis more importatna at this stage to get a few out of Ishant, Sree, Munaf,RP and Irfan back on track and also unearth Yadav/Mithun. Ishant only broke into the scene at WACA in 2008 because of Zak`s injury. If we can get at least 2 or 3 of this pool to show progress in this test and ODI series at the cost of losing the series, I`d be very happy.

There is very little to brag about in winning the tri series here or the test series here, to be honest. The bigger contests are from Dec 2010 (SA tour) to April 2011 (WC 2011) and we must work towards that. I`d actually have been happy had we even rested Zak firstly.

Only thing that is forcing me to watch another Ind-SL series Sachin Tendulkar. He's in awesome form and last i checked he had 4 centuries from 4 consecutive test matches and 6 from 8. Lets see if he can make it 5 out of 5 :p

Munaf is indeed a lazy ass bowler. He never gives his 100%. Doesn't bend his back enough and says he want to follow McGrath's steps to bowl line and lenght. For christ's sake, MCGrath bowled faster then Munaf in even in the Twilight of his career.

That is the reason why i admire lee so much. No matter what is pitch or conditions like but he gives his 200%. He has such a big heart. Unfortunately he is getting injured too much these days.

WTH? Now Munaf's comeback will hurt Mithun's chances badly. I am confident Dhoni will opt for Ishant and Munaf because he will think a more experienced bowler is a better option if they want to win the series. So Ishant and Munaf will play all games. Mithun as usual will be reduced to carrying drinks. Typical Indian cricket!

What Dadaji! :facepalm

Sreesanth should quit playing. He is Indian answer to Simon Jones.

But Munaf was not expected!! With RP with Dhoni in his marriage and other stuffs thought he would come in.

Irfan to has done well domestically as well at international level for India in Tests.

Selectors although have I think promised to over look Irfan!!

It will be interesting whom Indians for pick tomorrow's practice 3 day match!!

Munaf Last played in Newzealand. He just picked up 1 wicket. Also today is Munaf Patel's Birthday!!

In 12 tests he has picked 34 wickets. 34 being average too..

Whereas Irfan has played 30 tests and took 100 wickets!! Played last against the Proteans in 2008 where India lost by innings.

Agree Sai, good point, now Mithun would hardly get a game.:facepalm
