They wont play 3 seamers on Sri Lankan wickets. That will be disastrous. Two seamers + two spinners would be ideal. IMO for the first test, it should be : Ishant, Mithun, Harbhajan and Ojha (with Yuvraj and Sehwag as part time options).

Kandamby and Samaraweera are in the Sri Lanka Test squad, so this is a good warm-up for them. The other century maker Tharanga isn't even in the Test squad.

Ojha seems to be the best spinner in the side and should play.

This is a warm up match guys. We should thank our stars that we got a warm-up game in this series when our bowling stocks are depleted. And Harbhajan, who is one of our premier bowlers in test cricket, is not playing in this match. Also if SL can score at almost 5 runs per over for the day, then it tells us how flat and placid the wicket must be. I guess most of the wickets for the series will be like this to negate India's bowlers (the world now knows that with a little bit of juice on the wicket, Indian bowlers look better than they actually are).

Oy Sehwag, good time to add 1-2 triple centuries to your bag. Maybe fancy beating Lara's record this time around.

WTH? Now Munaf's comeback will hurt Mithun's chances badly. I am confident Dhoni will opt for Ishant and Munaf because he will think a more experienced bowler is a better option if they want to win the series. So Ishant and Munaf will play all games. Mithun as usual will be reduced to carrying drinks. Typical Indian cricket!

I don't think it will hurt his chance much because Munaf is injury prone too, it wouldn't come as surprise if he also returns home with injury.

Mendis torments us again? Anyways, he is not playing the first test atleast. Hope this game serves as a good warmup for the seniors. None of them clicked today, but they are all the big guns. Good hundred from the most unexpected of all, Yuvraj. India scored at 4.52 runs per over. SL also scored at a similar rate. Should India have batted a little more slower so that they could have scored more runs? The T20 mode is having an effect on test cricket.
