Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

I rate Rahane better than the tow guys, Sharma is ████ but Pujara is excellent.
but Rahane is my favourite, he averages over 63 in FC.

Almost all known young Indian batsmen have 50+ average in FC. Vijay, Pathan, Sharma, Pujara, Badrinath, Rahane, Kohli, all the same.

I would want to throw a guy with virtually no experience of international cricket into my Test side. Sharma has proven himself worthy of a Test cap and deserves a chance to be tried out.

If I was Pujara, I would be pretty ticked off if I didn't get called up next. After a stellar tour to England, you'd think he'd be the first choice. Rahane was second best there, and well, he should be after Pujara, if performance overseas really matters.

Rohit Sharma went to Zimbabwe, of course, but Pujara would easily be my pick ahead of Rohit. All these guys are eventually going to get chances though soon enough. Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar will slowly be phased out of the international arena, or should be phased out, one by one, so that we don't have a series of major retirements at the same time that would ruin the balance of the team.

Kane Williamson confirmed to play tonight and will bat at four, can't wait.

It's too bad the match starts at 9pm our time though. I need to wake early for my 8 o'clock lecture so I can't watch much :(

I am pretty sure you wouldn't stay awake just to NZ's loss. :D

I want to see Williamson bat :) Hopefully he goes well on debut

How can I be at defensive driving, watch Outrageous Fortune and see Kane Williamson bat all at the same time :( Ah well I should be able to catch the first couple of hours before bed.

Not happy with the probable team put up by Cricinfo. Kohli should play in place of Rohit Sharma and Karthik should open with Viru (Sehwag). I would also play Ashwin in place of Ravindra Jadeja or Mithun.

I second you. One of Sachin/Dravid should retire after Australian series.

The one remaining of Dravid/Sachin should retire after Indian tour of Australia 2011.

That will make Team India's future good cause the ones replacing them will have enough experience under the other one.

Laxman should retire in 2012.

@ todays game: Most analysts say its pre- world cup, but I say that its pre- New Zealand's tour of India:yes.

I disagree. Dravid should retire first, followed by Laxman, followed by Tendulkar. It makes no sense for Tendulkar to retire when he's entered the second (or third?) purple patch of his career. Dravid is not quite as stable anymore and I'm not sure his brand of cricket is getting any more popular.

When Dravid retires, I'd slot Laxman up there at number 3 (where he's played some of his best innings') and bring in one of the newbies in down the order--Sharma or Pujara or whoever. As long as Sachin is making runs consistently, he still has value for us on the team and he obviously has priceless value in mentoring the youngsters. I think Sehwag in particular has benefited a lot from partnerships with Tendulkar throughout his career.

I haven't seen in the view of players and their play ATM. All I saw is their Age & fitness. You cannot expect Tendulkar to play when he's 39/40:yes.

Laxman's fitness is far better than the fitness of Tendulkar and Dravid.

I agree, The first person to retire should be Dravid, I can't see much cricket left in him and Laxman should bat at no.3. Pujara or Rahane should take the no.6 plot.

Cant agree more.
