Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

He'll be alright (hopefully :spy) The thing is even though he's relatively young he's plenty of failures during his cricketing career. On his New Zealand under 19 debut four years ago he picked up a string of low scores against the touring Indian team, when he made his first-class debut (on the back of a lot of hype) he made 0 and 1 in his two innings. After his first full season of domestic cricket he had a real rough time with the New Zealand A team during the winter. And then at the start of last seasons domestic year he began the season averaging something like 10 before bouncing back and getting it up around 60.

So it's not like he's just had it all his own way, he's experienced this type of thing before. Hopefully he can just shrugg it of and learn from it.

Still a good score. It's going to be a very difficult chase under lights, especially with a relatively weak batting order.

Enjoyed watching Taylor and Styris bat. They made a huge partnership that went seemingly unnoticed because they rotated the strike so well. In hindsight, Dhoni will know that he was perhaps a little too defensive with his field settings, and perhaps should packed the leg side field a little more to stop the singles.

Cricinfo mentioned Mithun left the field at some point. Did they talk about it on TV at all? Hopefully he's not injured too.

Mithun needs time. He's not ready for the shorter format yet - from his domestic performances. And, imo, he should look to develop the outswinger at some stage in the near future. The potential is there. Right now he looks solid, but I believe he can get better.

Pity about Williamson, looks like he got a cracker on debut from PK.

Should be a good chase, NZ will fancy their chances though.

India off to a slow start but I guess they can accelerate in a few overs if Sehwag starts firing.

So Taufell is human after all, shocking decison really.

One match and you decide? Ishant has been another typical Indian bowler going from bad to worse. Mithun needs to be given consistent opportunities, I feel. That guy can be one of the better bowlers for India.

one match? Not really.. I've had this view since the test matches. He needs a little more than just a big inswinger (and on most occasions it's pretty inaccurate). India can't afford a whole bunch of wides by him. He's a good prospect don't get me wrong. But still he needs to develop a few more type of deliveries and be able to bowl consistently in 1 area.

........and Rohit sharma is back to what he does best:facepalm

India have a bloody good batting line-up.

You sure about that? The only guys I'd rate from their team in this match is sehwag, raina and dhoni.

EDIT: and two of them are back in the pavilion :D
