Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

SL not gonna take the bonus, those two wickets have slowed them down very much.
But a win is still on cards.

Sri Lanka making this really interesting. Kapugedera just came out at #9, he must be injured because its would be stupid to hold him back this late.

Four wickets fell in quick succession. I don't understand really why Kapugedera bats at number 9.

Too early still to call anything on Williamson but it must suck to be in his shoes right now.

Mark added 0 Minutes and 21 Seconds later...

I guess BBC articles only tell you so much...

you sly dog :p

:( Not very happy. Mills bowled well though.

And I lost 8mil in vBookie because of this

I'm not sure how our selectors got it so wrong. :noway
Wtf were they thinking playing two very inexperienced batsmen in the top five, Hopkins at six, and five bowlers/bowling AR's.
The Ingram/Watling change was a good one, and the McCullum/Oram chance was fair enough as Oram was injured and you'd have McCullum down at eight, but IIRC Elliot wasn't even injured and they replaced him with a specialist bowler.
Why would you weaken our batting after we got all out last match, and only two of our batsmen played decently.

BTW I'm not just posting this now as we lost, I said it last night when I turned it on, the first thing I noticed was how ████ our batting line-up was.

McCullum came in for Elliott and Southee for Oram I think, but I didn't think there was much need for two bowlers to come in, they should have left Elliott imo, and brought either McCullum or Southee in depending on what the pitch was offering.

Hope India buck up and win the next game against Sri Lanka. If we lose, it becomes very difficult to make the final.

Yeah the selectors certainly shot themselves in the foot there. I can't see why we needed 4 specialist Pace bowlers, then Styris, then McCullum and Whats his name (The other guy that can spin, I'm having a mental blank.) Elliot surely should've kept his spot and left Southee as 12th man. That would've made the other changes more sensible.

LOL Williamson :p

I thought the idea was that if the attacking during the powerplay went too far and wickets started to tumble, then he could come in and steady. By letting the tail enders slog they at least could have a go at the bonus point.

Yeah, looks like a sensible tactic on a wicket known for its demons.

NZ could have had that. Dropping Tharanga on 44 was key and they again failed to bat out their overs; last time they got away with it, but it tends to prove costly.
