Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

Valuable innings here from Sehwag. Hope he does not give it up and steers us to victory here (if possible, with a bonus point for which we have to score the remaining 68 runs in 14.2 overs). Raina's 21 was valuable enough.

Seeing the way Jadeja bowled today, he keeps getting Dhoni to retain him for upcoming matches. Dhoni is a Jadeja fanboy and Jadeja also makes it tough for Dhoni to drop him. Both KKD and Rohit are hopeless. One good innings followed by so many poor innings.

Sehwag, what a player!

Don't get why we open with KKD, when we have Mukund, Dhawan and even Rahane(although, it isn't his preferred position iirc) on the sidelines.

Uthappa is better suited as an opener in the absence of Sachin and Gambhir

Yeah, Dhawan. I like him and remember that U-19 WC where he took the bowlers apart. I thought he might get some chances but it was the other way round.

Again, I don't understand why we want Uthappa opening? It's not like he has turned around the domestic structure or something.

Poor sportsmanship from Sri Lanka. That was obviously an intentional no ball. A spinner does not step that far in front of the crease.

Completely agree. Very poor sportsmanship shown from Sri Lanka.

Yep.. Really poor stuff from the lankans... Randiv is indeed a randi..:p

Nice win for India. Show that we have reasonable depth with our ODI side and if our bowling can just do decently, we will be a tough side to beat when we are back to full strength. Lets not forget that we are still without 5 of our first choice players, so good signs there. As long as we string together decent performances in this series, I`d be satisfied even if we don`t win the series. The key in this series would be to get some confidence back in our bowlers after a year of flat wicket cricket.

Also, very cheap of the Sri Lankans with the intentional no-ball at the end. Not that Sehwag cares about that one run. He is someone who does`nt care if he is on 99 or 29 when he plays a stroke.

Randiv to Sehwag, 1 no ball, match is over, but Sehwag has been denied the century. And this is a big no-ball, must I point out? His back foot was close to over-steeping, forget about the front foot. Anyway Sehwag smashed it for six over long-off, but they don't count because the game finishes at no-ball

So cheap from d Lankans :(.. i heard Kumar say something "Century nakoo etc" it definitely means something negative...

Anyways, we win, Sehwag will soon get another one, no big thing for him, he'll rape you bowlers, so be prepared :D

Wow well played SL. :clap Like Sehwag cares much about that one run especially if they remember what he did when he was on 99 in the test.

Clearly you're not keeping up with the cricket, because Uthappa has said that he's re-modelling himself as a finisher and back-up wicketkeeper. Uthappa's record as an ODI opener isn't great either, and his List A season, this season, wasn't that great.

Yeah, Dhawan. I like him and remember that U-19 WC where he took the bowlers apart. I thought he might get some chances but it was the other way round.

I prefer Mukund. Over Dhawan. Much more solid, and the last 2 seasons, he's won the List A final for Tamil Nadu, hitting centuries in both finals, and also in the semi-final one year.

And, wow, if that no-ball was on purpose, horrid sportsmanship. I'm just reading on Cricinfo, so yeah.

Edit: Hah, just saw Sehwag's response. Doesn't really care about the century. What a man. :)

I don't agree with this rule. Sehwag did score six on a no ball, it's not like that he scored in next ball. But you will denied the six just because the match was finished some microseconds before because of no ball even though six was of same ball?

Anyways, Sehwag did a good thing by saying this.
He raises his arms, but then realises the century is not completed. Doesn't matter to him. He says: "It often happens. When a batsman is on 99 and the scores are level, bowlers try to bowl no-balls and wides. It happens in cricket. Fair enough." What a man
