Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

I'm liking our XI for this match, a lot more than the last match.
Our batting is a lot stronger with Elliot six, Oram/Hopkins at seven/eight and McCullum at nine, compared with last match where Hopkins was at six and McCullum was at seven.
Now we just need to conserve a few more wickets up top, and keep wicket in hand for the later overs where we should be able to post a decent total.
Good luck Williamson, hopefully he can come good today, and we need Guptill to find some much needed form.

But Ingram instead of Guptill? :sarcasm

i'm not too sure about this, only going with 2 specialists seamers, too much pressure on mccullum, styris and oram to perform with the ball.

But Ingram instead of Guptill?

i'm guessing they're just taking this tri-series as a warm-up to the world cup and trying different combinations.

Problem is Ingram really shouldn't be in contention to play at the world cup, at a guess he's probably New Zealand's sixth choice. Unless Guptill really is injured it's a strange move.

looks like its raining cats & dogs, but the good thing is that there's a reserve day, when was the last time they scheduled a reserve day??

I was thinking that as well, it's really rare to have a reserve day nowadays

Covers are coming off so hopefully there's play. Annoyingly I won't be able to watch any of it because I have a 8am start tomorrow :( Hope we win! (And that Ingram gets a duck and Watling and Williamson score centuries :p)

Chewie added 15 Minutes and 21 Seconds later...

I see that Guptill is injured. An injured Guptill is probably still better than Peter no-feet Ingram.

The thing is, Ingram has two whole feet but can't seem to move them, whereas Guptill only has one and a half feet but moves them perfectly!

This might be a 35-over game, I don't wanna it to be cancelled, because this would decide one of the finalists.

Yea agreed. I don't see why he was even picked. Played a couple of good games against Bangladesh and then gets ripped apart by Australia. Poor choice.

Looks like this game will be tonight. Much better as I stay up and watch the first innings :) Who else would they have picked as an opener is the problem. Redmond? How? McIntosh (lol)?

Any of those choices would have been better. Ingram may get a good score once in a while with his no footwork style of play but the majority of the time he's going to get out cheaply, especially at international level.

This tri-series is boring. And why did they schedule it with 3 off days ?
They normally have 3 days off in between two tests. This is too slow a tournament. And it Sri Lanka against India again.

If these two meet in the World Cup final. I dont think anyone will even watch that game then.

I'm guessing the reason there are decent gaps between the games is because of the reserve days.
Also it's only two days off without a reserve day, so there will only be one day off before the next match now because the reserve day is being used.
