Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

Why isn't Kohli playing? He is a very talented batsman. One of the only ones, who have a good technique.

True enough...

Why the fling Rohit Sharma is in the team, Manish pandey,Saurabh Tiwary deserve a chance. Even the Robin Uthappa would have fired if Dhoni would have that much faith in him

He scored runs in ranji trophy too

See, he has scored in first class games too. An avg of 50, with 6 hundreds in 19 games is impressive. His strike rate is 53, so that means it wasn't a slogathan, he scored at a test match pace....

He's 3 years younger than Rohit Sharma and its been 3 years since Rohit's debut and he's still unable to cement his place. Now its time to give someone else chance. Raina debuted when he was 18 year old and earned his Man of the Match just 9 months after in march 2006 against england when he scored 81 *. Since then he proved himself but Nohit Sharma has just wasted his 3 years:facepalm

Well, we can, but I appreciate his effort in saving me time. Honestly, instead of Rohit Sharma, bring Kohli in.

Tiwari deserves a chance. Kohli I'm pretty sure isn't in the plans for WC 2011, he's got time and Tiwari needs a debut.

I can't believe such a talented batting line up can come up consistently with such mediocre scorecards :facepalm. It was as if Pakistan were batting :D. I saw the wickets and there was nothing special about any delivery that got an indian wicket. It was just the lack of fight and determination that was needed in a crisis situation. Indian team management needs to have good look at the tenacity and focus of their players.

Umpiring was special;)

Give Irfan Pathan a chance to prove himself instead of Jadeja, bring Kohli or Saurabh Tiwary for Sharma, and make Dhoni to bat a bit higher up the order when his team is struggling. Those are the three changes I'd have made to the team. Dunno about the other two but unless Dhoni is gay, and has an affair going on with Rohit, he should and he must show the guts to drop him for the next match.

I would bring in Manoj Tiwary ahead of Saurabh Tiwary. Manoj has been hitting the doors of Indian selection for quite sometime and came close to achieving it before a freak injury set him back. And he made good comeback and did well in the recent IPL. He is a proven domestic performer (not sure what his scores in the last season were, but he has performed well overall in domestic cricket). He is the player who can play sensible cricket as well as the slam bang one well.

Enough of Nohit and KKD. Uthappa and Manoj Tiwary should be replacements (Uthappa for backup keeper).

Second that. Completely forgot about Manoj. In a basket full of rotten tomatoes, Wridhiman Saha, him and a few others are the only players who make me proud as someone hailing from Bengal. I'd also vouch for Wriddhiman in the team but I guess Uthappa sounds like a better option.

Uthappa needs to be brought back in place of Jadeja as soon as he recovers from the surgery he had recently. He is the best finisher we have atm. Rohit Sharma shouldn't have played any games on this tour tbh. But of course he managed to get those 2 ODI tons in Zimbabwe so he extended his run <_<

I'm not too convinced about Saurabh Tiwary either. Kholi > Saurabh for me.

Manoj Tiwary has slipped way down the pecking order. Didn't even make the Emerging Players team, after a mediocre tour of England. I don't get why he wasn't given the Emerging Players too, but yeah, they didn't pick him. That's Pujara, Rahane, Pandey and Kedar Jadhav ahead of him for middle order slots, if you consider who they picked.

I'm all for Manoj Tiwary too. But, meh, selectors.

Uthappa has got to come in as a finisher though, I agree. Can also open if anything happens to Gambhir or Sehwag.

What? Saurabh and Kohli are around the same age, and Kohli is more established. Obviously Kohli is in the plans for the WC 2011.

Saurabh is not your technical genius, but he would be a good player in the limited over formats, imo.

Well, its about time we start focusing on a set team combination which wouldn't require alterations in every match as the WC is just months away. Wasting too much time on Yuseless Pathan was a bad idea.
