Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

Worst Tour Ever for Indian batting i know them for their great batting but saw them first time to crash in this manner

that was a tweaking fearsome tweak batting collapse.
Why is Rohit Sharma still in the team when Kohli and Tiwary are there. Kohli has already proved himself, then why he was out of the team.:facepalm

I like that Tiwary if I'm honesty. There was something baulschy and, dare I say, Kevin Pietersen-esque, about him. He's obviously raw as hell, but just because he scored runs in the T20s doesn't mean he can't make a decent player in longer formats if he puts his mind to it.

I've said this before, but gambhir spent the IPL shuffling about and slogging across the line over midwicket, but he got runs, and sometimes it's simply that run-getting quality you're looking for, not how they do it.

I think a lot of people are thinking that. I was very surprised to see Rohit picked ahead of Kohli considering the good form that Kohli had shown.

He's got runs at an average of 50 in FC with 6 centuries and 42 in List-A.
It's not just like he has performed only in IPL, he performed in ranji Trophy too.

I dunno if the pitches are terrible of whether it's just weak batting sides. In a way, lower scorers are a nice change, however 100 run innings are far too low. I'm all for more bowler dominated games for low 200 scores but come on.

weak batting. The conditions are ideal for ODI cricket imo (apart from the lights bit). The reason India are collapsing like this is mainly because of team selection. There are players playing who should never have been picked to begin with and others who are sitting out for no real reason. And every now and then the umpires decide to spice things up and give horrible decisions.

Boy India have some worries with their batting lineup, second low score in this series now. Shows how much importance Tendulkar is and to a lesser extent Gambhir.

With the form Dharmasena was in I doubt those two would have made difference. :laugh

Seriously though its good Dhoni is prepared to stick to players he feel will be his combination but unfortunately the players are just useless. He should stop doing a Ganguly and look for other players as we cannot afford India out of world cup in first round especially when its home tournament.

When will the failure Nohit Sharma get the axe? He keeps failing and keeps getting picked... Same with Jadeja. When these two are in the team, it's like 9 vs 13 instead of 11 vs 11...

Seriously, Sehwag has a better bowling average and strike rate than Jadeja.

Can't agree with that mate. It was a pitiful performance even from the guys who you'd never drop like Sehwag, Raina and Dhoni. Sure, maybe that XI isn't India's best but before blaming the selectors they need to have a long hard look at themselves. Firstly, motivation in a little tournament like this is probably a big issue. Second, conditions and a bit of bad luck with the umpires didn't help and third, some good bowling from Sri Lanka. ALL those things need to be credited before we start laying that poor performance at the selectors feet. It's like Australia's current collapsing issues. Everyone is quick to point at the selectors and Marcus North, but he's only one man in our top 7. The others still have a lot to answer for too, so I'm not going to throw the selectors under the cart for that.

He had made runs in longer formats too. I've posted his FC Stats couple of pages back. He scored 6 hundreds in 19 games at avg of 51.. Thats not bad at all. And you are right he has some x Factor in him, something everyone loves. And those who are saying he's not good technically, well Dhoni,Sehwag,Pietersen never had classical technique, yet they are world class players..
So technique is not everything...

How can a kiwi complain about low scores:eek: Remember the grassy pitches you guys made on India's tour of 2003 where test matches were finishing on day 2 with both teams scoring below hundred scores:p
