Gambhir Finds Form And Gives India The Edge
After leading by 206 runs and not enforcing a follow on, Skipper Sehwag and Gambhir made way to the middle. Sehwag showed some return of form in first innings but could not continue in the second inning as India lost Sehwag for just 1 run and were 6/1 in the second over. Gambhir played few good cover drives and left some deliveries that were coming in. Pujara on the other hand could not continue nibbed at an out swinging delivery from Mark Gillespie who was swinging the bowl both ways.
It was master blaster Tendulkar who was next man in but again lack of concentration and trying way too many shots took the edge and this time Gillespie caught it on Franklins delivery. India were struggling on 45/3 with a lead of 251 runs. On one hand wickets kept tumbling and on other hand Gambhir bought his half century which would have definitely bought some lost confidence back.
Good run of form from Saha,Kohli this time never worked and with Gambhir's resistant and good old 15-20 runs from rest batsman helped India cross 400 runs lead and were bowled out on 206 runs. New Zealand now needs 416 runs to win in almost 187 overs and it looks India have the upper edge here but a good innings from anyone like Sachin Tendulkar of last innings could swing the balance
