Story India's Journey In International Cricket - vs New Zealand - 2nd Test

Virat Kohli the highest run getter? Its time Sachin and VVS should to bid adieu unless they score good in the 2nd innings. ;)

I think the sim forgot that the Indians are batting in the subcontinent! ;)

Sachin went because of Pujara's mistake while VVS was dismissed lbw by a bowler, its time up for him I reckon :spy

Southee :clap India in a trouble here.Need something special in the 2nd Half of the match

Match In Complete Balance After Umesh Yadav's Six!!

Umesh Yadav was the only name which was chanted across the stadium and media as he bowled one of the best spell picking 6 wickets and getting India back into the match.

Martin Guptill was the first man to be dismissed by Umesh Yadav. Guptill and McIntosh provided a nice start to the New Zealand in the first innings but this time it was not possible as Umesh Yadav was caught at 2nd slip to VVS Laxman. Daniel Flynn soon followed Martin Guptill back to the pavilion as he was caught on covers to Pujara. New Zealand were struggling on 18/2 before skipper Ross Taylor joined Tim McIntosh to the center.

After Flynn's wicket Ross Taylor was welcomed with a steamy bouncer from Umesh Yadav which took his glove and was caught by Ojha, Umesh Yadav was on a hattrick and New Zealand were really struggling on 18/3. Little partnership in the middle innings and lower down innings could not really help much as New Zealand were bowled out for 159 runs. The first innings lead really helped the Kiwi's as India now need 359 runs to win which still looks a formidable ask in a test match and to add more pressure was failed Indian batting.

Sachin Tendulkar Repeats History!

It was December 15th of year 2008 the 5th day of the first test between India and England after the terror attacks on Mumbai and Sachin Tendulkar created a history for India as he scored unbeaten 103 as India chased down the fourth ever highest fourth inning total in test history of 368. History was rewritten as the same man scored 168 not out against a different opposition as India chased down a brilliant 359. This chase meant this was the 5th best chase in history of test cricket.

India did not start off well as once again their openers were not able to provide a good start to them. Gautam Gambhir departed on 12 as Tim Southee struck early and India were 23/1. Cheteshwar Pujara was the new man in and in no time followed Gambhir back. He was out for duck meaning India were in deep trouble with score 30/2. Sehwag and Tendulkar got things going as they both started playing shots but Virender Sehwag was caught behind by Tim McIntosh as Daniel Vettori bowled a quicker one. VVS Laxman's poor run form continued as he too departed leaving India in an as usual scenario where win was far away.

Virat Kohli taking inspiration from first innings looked good and built a huge partnership with Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin did the majority of run scoring but Virat just was the perfect partner in the 142 runs partnership. He scored 56 before Mark Gillespie cleaned his stumps back to pavillion. Wridhiman Saha was the new man in and India still needed 147 runs to win which still looked a huge ask. Saha was cautious in the start but once settled started playing some good shots and once again built a much needed partnership for India. 116 runs between Saha and Tendulkar insured that India had enough where tail could just bat out with Sachin. Pragyan Ojha just did that scoring 11 runs of 25 deliveries insuring India had a famous victory here at Kolkata and lead the series 1-0, with one match to come.

History not repeated! Sehwag was named the man of the match then for his match winning knock of 80 odd runs. ;)
Nonetheless, Sachin batted brilliantly.

I'm happy that India won in Sehwag's captaincy. Take that, MSD! :D

Great knock by Sachin Tendulkar there 101st International Century ...
The return of MRF Bat is the return of form :spy
