India on top thanks to Yusuf Pathan​

Well the partnership between Yusuf Pathan and Shikhar Dhawan had steadied the innings and the Indians were having a good platform to build upon . The two were very good in rotating the strike and kept the scorecard ticking . Again it looked like a debutant making an impact on the game but it wasnt so . Dilhara Fernando had something to cheer about in his really poor spell . He produced a good ball and Dhawan got a thick outside edge and produce an excellent catch from Sangarkkara . Shikhar Dhawan innings came to an end at 34 and Indians were 67/2 . Suresh Raina a man who was called back for after a good IPL performance . But it was no stopping Ysuf Pathan when he is in dangerous form . Vaas the most effective bowler for the Lankans was given a break after his over giving just 22 runs and 1 wicket . While Fernando was given his break after his 7 over going for 57 and taking a wicket . Fernando in his last 2 overs of his spell was really hammered by Yusuf Pathan . Yusuf played some really eye catching shot which raced away for four . Most of them were on the offside through covers or point . Kulasekera and Jayasuriya were given the ball . Kulasekera was good with ball has he bowled in the right ares But he could stopp Raina getting his first boundary through covers . Yet another partnership was building as the two kept on rotating the strike atleast 3 or 4 times in each over . After 20 overs Indians were in a good position at 113/2 . Yusuf Pathan was not out on 49 and Raina was not out on 13 . Partnership between the two was 44 in 46 balls .

Indians in trouble as they lose some quick wickets ​

Yusuf Pathan and Suresh Raina played well against the slower bowlers like Jayasuriya and Kulasekera . They did the scoring mostly in ones and twos . Yusuf Pathan reached his 2nd international 50 in 63 balls and a well deserved applause he got . Yusuf Pathan looked aggressive with his approach . He smashed Kulasekera for a boundary over mid on . The partnership was building on very well . But soon as the partnership looked dangerous Sanath Jayasuriya got the all important breackthrough of Raina , Suresh Raina was caught at mid wicket by Chamara Silva while playing the leg glance . Raina departed for 23 of 24 balls and Indians were 135/3 . Yuvraj Singh came in . Yusuf Pathan was the next important wicket . A useless shot by Yusuf Pathan going over the top got the edge and was easily caught at fine leg by Vaas . Yusuf Pathan's innings came to an end and Indians were 143/4 as Rohit Sharma came in .

But it was another big breack through for the Lankans when Rohit Sharma nicked one of Jayasuriya and was easily caught by Sangarkkara . Tough times ahead as Rohit departed for 0 and Indians in some bother at 144/5 . Skipper MS Dhoni walked in . Indians needed yest another huge partnership from the last batting pair . Dhoni and Yuvi first struggled to read Murali but soon rotated the strike very well . Dhoni was able to get the odd boundaries here and there . Dhoni swept Murali for 4 and soon later a brilliant cut by Dhoni racing away for 4 . Yuvraj on the other hand rotated the strike and kept the scorecard ticking . This was India's last hope of reaching a huge score and after 31 overs Indians were 171/5 . MS Dhoni batting on 14 and Yuvraj Singh on 18 . Pick of the bowlers still now for the Lankans was Sanath Jayasuriya getting 2 important wickets .
