A good day for India in the tour match on day 1. They dismissed the Aus Side for 243 with Aaron once again leading the way with 4 wickets and Karn S also played a role picking up 3 wickets, while Md. Shami picked up 2.

Dhawan continued to struggle as he got out without scoring. Vijay looked steady as always at 37 n.o., Pujara got a 22, while Kohli was 30 n.o.

Interestingly Cricinfo scorecard has put a star next to Ishant's name, indicating he was the skipper for the game. Why that would be so, is anyone's guess.

Maybe just a small mistake by Cricinfo.

BCCI's twitter said Kohli was not on field from the beginning, so Ishant was stand-in captain. After Lunch Kohli joined in and took control of the team

Raina finishes the CA XI off with a brilliant diving catch in the slip cordon off the bowling of Aaron.

This is heartening to read .. if we can simply hold on to our slip catches, we would have much better results in overseas tests

Kind of echoing what I said in the Phil Hughes thread, I almost hope they cancel this tour. I'm just not ready to watch cricket at the moment, and I don't think anybody is really ready to play either.

Good to see Aaron and Kohli doing well on the tour games though :)

Sorry but don't agree. The game eventually has to go on. These cricketers are professional athletes and I am sure once they are on the field, they will be pumped up to give their 100%.

As a viewer, I am more than ready to watch the series. Very psyched about it. I just hope we put up a good fight.

Players got some decent practice again

Cricket Australia XI 243 (Silk 58, Gotch 58*, Aaron 4-41, Karn 3-57) and 83 for 5 (Silk 41*, Ishant 2-8) drew with Indians 375 (Vijay 60, Kohli 66, Rahane 56, Saha 51, Lalor 4-59)Scorecard

Apparently there were lots of bouncers bowled. Report

I wasn't all that interested in cricket to begin with and the Phil Hughes incident has only seen my interest wane even more, but I disagree, I think the tour going on is what's best for everyone, it should help us fans, the cricketers and everyone involved move on because at the end of the day, life must go on.

Press Conference : CA XI v Indians, Tour match, Adelaide, 2nd day | 'Rahane looks most settled' - Lalor | Cricket videos, MP3, podcasts, cricket audio | ESPN Cricinfo

Here is Josh Lalor's press conference who was their most successful bowler in both the matches. It was interesting to hear because he said Rahane and Saha looked the most comfortable with the conditions. Not surprised about Rahane because we know he has the ability to do it but Saha's name definitely came as a surprise. His keeping is decent but if he shows some good batting skills in the first test, and if we end up doing well in the first test, Dhoni will be under pressure straight away in the second match.

I am actually not surprised about Saha either. The little I have seen of him in Ranji Trophy, he has a very solid technique and good defense.

Dhoni will obviously walk in without any issues in the second test. Unless Saha scores a match winning hundred. Even then, someone else would be sacrificed not Dhoni
