India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

This will be interesting. Real test of our batsmen, when faced with unfriendly conditions. Need vijay to get into his monk mode of leaving

Just one left hander in the lineup lol. That too an opener. Another case for Raina one might say

Its a true Aussie pitch and I am happy we are batting. Knowing our bowlers, they would have seen the bounce and then gotten busy trying to get one to take off to the fking moon.

This looks like a good pitch and good aggressive decision to bat first. The longer these two bat out there and keep kohli and Pujara inside that would be good for our fortunes later on. Kohli could potentially enjoy this wicket with his stroke play.[DOUBLEPOST=1418776602][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah we need to bat first score good runs and then put pressure on australia and then that's when we usually bowl well.

It seems like India out there, if we keep them out long enough in that hot humid weather this test could be for us.

Yeah I too hope so. I just said it would be tough to currently view any evidence for the changes in technique that Kohli has made. I would celebrate if Kohli can crush England's bowlers when we tour them next. I have a feeling he is going to do that next time. He will be very hungry, and would be thirsting for revenge

Cricinfo's probable India XI has an unchanged fast bowling attack. I just hope that's not the case. I would like to see Yadav in for Brisbane, preferably for Shami. Ishant was our best bowler at Adelaide and should be the leader of the attack. I would keep Aaron for his pace and cut him slack due to his inexperience.

agree with you! I am no longer a fan of shami, I think he's useless unless he can get it to reverse. Good thing we got yadav in because he was good last time around even though he was expensive.

First morning session makes me so nervous as a viewer (have been biting my nails subconsciously). Can only imagine what the batsmen go through

I am really happy because Dhawan is playing really sensible right now. Like I have always wanted him to play like this in foreign conditions. Just stay out there and don't get out in the first 5 overs. He's doing kohli and Pujara a good favor right now. I don't care how many he gets out for but just stay out there.

That was a cracking shot by VJ .. made a crackling sound

Anyone else find this 3 over spell thing odd ? I understand that it would work for Johnson, but the other bowlers esp Hazlewood should be given a 5 over spell to at least work out some rhythm ??

Ahh Dhawan Dhawan Dhawan .. throws away a perfectly good start

Dhawan ... what have u done ... ah well at least a 50 run opening stand.

The Ball was quite good, moved late, very late.

What? That was probably the worst ball that was bowled this morning. I don't really mind it because he was trying to hit it over but just got unlucky with the extra bounce.

I think Johnson's spray down the leg side was worse, just saying :P But the Dhawan ball was there for hitting - short and wide. Its a shame Dhawan did not make it count

Dhawan in last 10 innings :
2,12, 29, 7,31, 6 ,37, 25, 9, 24
Free wickets to the bowlers.

Are we heading for some different oversea series? I do hope so. It's quite rare to see Indian batsmen keeping the form and winning earliest session, right from first match to second. Things might collapse with change position of sun.:p A promising first session however.
