India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

Take a bow Vijay .. what a knock .. what a player .. what a shot to get to the ton

This should have been his second ton of the series, but he will accept this gladly :) Keep going *touchwood*

Murli Vijay has been a complete revelation since that England tour. He needs to bat till the end of the day here to get us to a good position.

Dont forget his fighting 97 @ Kingsmead, SAF

He showed his skills during that series, that he was willing to do the grind and spend time on the crease.

He needs to buckle down again, and hope he scored another 100 runs :)

Jinks is starting to time the ball well, but just cant find the gaps at all

Keeping my fingers crossed here. Need to get to stumps with not much damage. Still another 32 overs left in the day. Hope we can end the day at 270-odd for not more than 4 down.

Lovely.:p

Well, I was too harsh on Vijay for his slowed knock in second inning at Adelaide. But now he's the dominant player who could take us to a big total it seems. Top class batting all I've to say.:)

Our problem in this innings has been that despite his innings, we are only 200/3 here. There has been very little contribution from others. One or more of Rahane, Sharma and Dhoni have to come up with a solid effort here. Otherwise, we could well capitulate for 300 here which may not be enough. Anything around 400 and we may be in with a chance.

Clarke should contact Cricbuzz or Cricinfo's commentary writers.

TBH Cricinfo is getting annoying too. They keep bringing Stuart McGill or Agarkar as guest commentators (or whatever), and then the commentary quality drops big time as they are busy posting "expert comments" and ignoring the events on the field

Exactly. By the way rather expecting Rohit and Dhoni to score and watching them struggling, I would like to see Vijay staying at an end as he has spent 5 hours on the field so he knows the pitch well, he knows the conditions well so he could score the runs expeditiously, and that's why he can do the trick to pass us over 400 to build the match our way.

Edit: It's been the rare case since 2011 that we have seen an Indian to score around a double ton at oversea to take us between 400-500 or more over. Not rare, uncame stuff I should say. All we seen were actually the quick falls or the player getting a ton and then letting his wicket go after settling well. That shouldn't be happening now, I would love to watch Vijay having scored a match decisive knock.

Agree. If Vijay can ensure what the Fab 4 in the 2000-2011 era used to do, score big in the first innings, we can force a result here. You never know what scoreboard pressure can achieve along with a couple of early wickets. Really hoping we can press for a 400-odd score here. This track is fast but true and our bowlers would need all the cushion of runs they can get. With another 23 overs to go, there is still a long way to go. It could sway in favor of either side here. Just hoping, it goes our side. As I see it now, its still honors even.

With Vijay gone now, I really don`t have high hopes of us getting to 350+. Rohit is too much of a liability and Dhoni has`nt played for a long time now. Had Vijay been there, India could`ve been 330-odd by stumps today. Now, I`d be happy if we can manage to just avoid a collapse from here on.

Rahane dislikes it.

Wow fking dozed off during tea, just woke up. Well played Vijay, what a 100. What a player he is becoming.

Funny thing I woke and they were showing fall of wickets, and I had still to wear the specs. I saw a guy charge down the wickets and get (what I thought at the time) stumped.

I thought Rohit if that was you, I will personally come to Adelaide and fking kill you tonight. Luckily it wasn't. Saves me the bother :D
