India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

Got him .. Ashwin's 1 of 6.

LOL -- Dhawan's unique celebration !!

Gotcha .. wonderful stuff when plan works

That wicket probably gave us the session. They scored at a good rate but that was because Dhoni had some really aggressive field setting.

Really impressed with Dhoni. Never seen such aggressive fields from him in a long time. The bowlers have been a bit too short at times imo, but they have also bowled to plan at times and it has paid off with that Rogers wicket

Need two more tonight for it to be even. Australia bossing it even now for me, with all the batting to come. Ishant has been disappointing.

This is carnage. Looks like we are the side under pressure here, not Australia. Conceding 5 r.p.o time and again in test cricket is just not on. We will end up losing this in a demoralizing fashion. I feel for Vijay who played a super innings here. We need 500 on the board each time we go out to bowl.

Typical of India to throw away such a commanding position easily. Ideally a target score of 550 was in the offing, but careless batting from the middle order plummeted us yet again.
If Rohit does continue playing similar shots, I wont be surprised to see Suresh Raina in that position on 26th December 2014. Raina also adds the off-spin variety which can be more effective than the combined bowling efforts of Vijay & Rohit.

The lead is too small now. Even if we have a good bowling day tomorrow, the match might only be even. The more likely scenario is that Smith and Marsh will romp home to their respective hundreds, leading Australia to a score of 550+, leaving us to play out 2 days for a draw. Too much batting to come in the form of Haddin, Johnson, Starc anc Co.

I would like to think that this match is India's way that our batting order seems to be consistent despite our performance in previous series, against England. Plus the major point in our favor is that the Australia would be batting on day 4 and/or day 5 if a miracle doesn't slip us into a 3 day match; that is defeat by an inning.:p Apart I remember, yesterday I seen some statistics on live telecast describing how playing conditions or game turns on 4th and 5th day at Brisbane cricket stadium. I don't quite remember it clearly but I'm sure it was no big score than 150 on day 5 for loss of 7-9 wickets. That's the fact Aussies could be challenged and we need to make most out of our opportunities.
