India's tour of Australia - December/January 2015

India giving away really easy wickets here to Australia. There is no way that Australia can be pushed by our bowlers on this wicket in the 2nd innings.

Kohli and Shami need to swing hard here and get some useful runs. A deficit of less than 50 would not be bad here.

why is India even trying to press the scoring? They're going at a good rate and we are still over a hundred runs behind. Not the best time to start playing aggressive shots. We might actually end up being 50 short.
I guess that willbe the case now. Stupid batting from India.

I think that the Selectors now probably should start looking for a Dhoni replacement in Tests. If Your skipper can't help You then who You can possibly look for? Skipper should be the one who leads from the from , not the one comest at no. 7 to betray You with His pathetic batting display.

After SRT retired last year, the last of the legendary era had gone, and in quick succession, and a lot of rebuilding was required. Any side takes about 2 years to rebuild, especially one replacing such a mega generation. Sadly the fixture list during this period of rebuilding have been the four toughest tours there are on the calender, and naturally the results have not been the greatest. However the key point in any rebuilding period is the rebuilding and not the results themselves.

When I look back at the past year, I am quite proud of the team and how far in just one year the rebuilding process has come, and how many pieces of the puzzle have been found.

Proud of the team, the rebuilding continues and one more piece of the puzzle can be confirmed today. We knew Kohli was the gem of the lot and how he has come up on this tour. However this tour shall be remembered for Vijay and Rahane stepping up.

Vijay had shown he was a definite piece on the board already in the first two tests, and today Rahane has stepped up and we have one more piece of the board confirmed. Pujara we know is a piece, but he needs to score a few more. Now to find another opener who can be consistant, whether it is Dhawan or anyone else.

Bhuvi among the bowlers is the star, and Ashwin is another key cog, I think we will all agree, though of course he could do with better figures. Umesh, Aaron have looked in bits and pieces, Ishant has let himself down again. However this tour shall be remembered for India finding two vital vital pieces of the puzzle, and the process of rebuilding continuing.

Now lets take it to the home fixture stretch and finish off the job. The wins will also come in this home stretch and winning will only boost the morale of the team higher, and make the side more confident.

Interesting choice of words. Remember he was the only one who stood up in England when all around him were betraying him? He like anyone else is allowed a few failures.

Honestly don't look at the small picture. The results matter, but the rebuilding matters a lot more. We had a mega generation playing. Sadly the rebuilding process has come during the phase of the four toughest tours there are in Cricket for an Asian side. However look how far we have come from last year in SA, when we had no openers to speak of, no middle order, and we didn't know how Pujara, Kohli and Rahane would perform, whether they would perform. We had a whole batting line up to find, and 1 year later we are nearly there. Thats good rebuilding effort.

The results will come. A few more pieces to go, especially bowling. Patience, rebuilding is not done at the drop of a hat.

What a knock well played Kohli, finally a big hundred ... one of many to come. Well Done Virat.

On a side note its a good thing Johnson got a wicket. Picture a test where Ishant and Johnson had the equally terrible figures. The world would have finished or something :)

That was a bad shot to end another extraordinary innings from Kohli! He did indulge in some unnecessary drama (well he's in an official relationship with a Bollywood actress) with Johnson.

Australia still ahead, but India will take this score for sure. Rahul and Dhoni both played equally ridiculous innings (Rahul atleast can be forgiven for this being his debut innings) and therefore gave up all the momentum built by Rahane and Kohli.
