India's tour of West Indies - July/August 2016

I still think Mishra should have played this test. He probably would have scored more than what Jadeja did and probably picked up more wickets too.

LOL seriously?

Good to see Bhuvi among the wickets. As I said last time, he was bowling pretty well without much luck. So it is good to see him getting those wickets.

Mishra is a specialist spinner. Jadeja is a bits and pieces cricketer who is good at neither. I would bet on Mishra achieving what I had mentioned, over Jadeja. The poor guy has not got a stable opportunity and gets ignored for bits and pieces people like Jadeja.

Test cricket is going to start surviving because of these T20 quality players and it's a highly imminent that test cricket's quality will suffer. Time will tell!

The most amazing thing about the Mishra vs Jadeja debate is that Mishra(22.34) has a better batting avg than Jadeja (20.63), while Jadeja (Avg 23, ER 2.24) has better bowling stats than Mishra (Avg 34.37, ER 3.15). You would think, it would be the opposite

In Jadeja's defence, he had an amazing series against SAF even if it was in conditions perfectly suited to his type of bowling

Yeah, Jaddu is only good in the subcontinent. They should only bring him when India play in India. Otherwise, he was pretty useless. One good thing about him is that, no matter where he plays, he's the best fielder you've got. Though, I feel that Jaddu needs to be regarded as a bowling-allrounder, cause' he so rarely bats well.

I've never wanted India to lose so badly. Not because i dislike them or anything, but just because i want to see Pakistan on top of the ICC rankings.

Why are you so frustrated these days about Pakistan ?
They are also working hard & the result is before you..........

It's not about who is specialist and who is bits and pieces cricketer. It's about who is in form will perform a better job in current situation. As I said before, I watched most of the first 2 tests and saw Mishra's bowling in both the matches. I am a fan of having a leg spinner in the team but if he is not upto the mark then there is no point of keeping him in there. Mishra was clearly struggling and wasn't bowling as well as required. So it is better to bring in someone who might do a better job than a bowler who is struggling currently. Jadeja of course won't be as aggreesive option as Mishra but what you will get from him is consistency in his bowling.Plus you get an amazing fielding option in Jadeja. In Mishra, we have the weakest fielder in the team. Again, I am not against Mishra. He is a very good bowler who is just not in form right now which is why I don't mind seeing Jadeja in the team right now.

When will it happen? Or
When did that happen?
From the prospective of team consistency, India is performing well while Pakistan is a hardworking team and they need to be at their best to be consistent with their results. There is still long way to go....

Jadeja or Mishra is the captain's headache. Hope he comes out with a right guy at the right time.

You mean a long way to go for us to be no.1? Well, theoretically, that isn't the case. We can be no.1 if India don't win with a bigger margin than 2-0 and Australia lose 2-0 or 3-0.
I will agree that we're not perfect, but i think we've done better than India in English conditions. And Australia have shown that they don't deserve to be no.1 with their recent performances in England (although that was a different team) and SL. I think between all three teams, Pakistan are the one who deserve it the most, but only by a small margin. India aren't behind, but England and West Indies are two different teams.

There is still one more game left for India to play that determines the ranking. While Australia is in good position against SL in the ongoing game.

India played against Aus & Eng last time under Dhoni's captaincy while there has been a huge transition after Kohli taking over the captaincy beating SL in their home, SA in India where SA had a record of being unbeaten team overseas since 2010.

India in England was back in 2014. Dhoni was the captain. Then, the team was losing. If you noticed, India started doing better once Kohli was the captain. They started fighting. The ball didn't really swing in England and batting was pretty easy in this current series. India are more consistent with their performances.

It's not our fault that the ball didn't swing.

I know, that's why I want India to lose or draw :).

We beat Sri Lanka too, and won or drew all our "home" series, but we did better than you in England, no matter how you put it. So right now I think we're slightly better. You can pull out all the "conditions and pitch were more helpful to you" cards, but as I said before, we don't have any say in that. And if the pitches were flat (in fact they weren't totally flat), there must have been a reason. India and Australia are more marketable than Pakistan, so why would they make the Tests go into the fifth day on purpose only against Pakistan?

I know. Im not saying its their fault. The conditions were treachous in 2014 and there was deadly swing.
