India's tour of West Indies - July/August 2016

It's not our fault that the ball didn't swing.

I know, that's why I want India to lose or draw :).

We beat Sri Lanka too, and won or drew all our "home" series, but we did better than you in England, no matter how you put it. So right now I think we're slightly better. You can pull out all the "conditions and pitch were more helpful to you" cards, but as I said before, we don't have any say in that. And if the pitches were flat (in fact they weren't totally flat), there must have been a reason. India and Australia are more marketable than Pakistan, so why would they make the Tests go into the fifth day on purpose only against Pakistan?

All that apart, when was the last time India and Pakistan were both in the top 2 in any rankings. :-) I would`nt mind if Pakistan get to No.1 either. The fact is that no matter who reaches there now, its too close to call and the rankings will keep changing constantly. If anything I`d be happy to see Pakistan at No.1 since I`m a huge fan of Misbah`s perseverance and toil. Hats off to that guy for instilling fight into this Pakistan side.

Versatile Ajinkya Rahane quietly shows his worth | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Article shows exactly why Rahane is the PERFECT no.5 batman for India and should not fiddled around for Sharmaji.

Sharmaji will only be useful if the conditions are good and the ball was worn off. Even then, no.5 has to deal with the second new ball often. Don't see Rohit doing that at all. And forget about playing with tailenders.

At least we hold the number 1 ranking for a couple of days.................... :D

This should be last chance for Sharma. If he doesn't perform, he should be left out for good. Happy to see Pujara playing. Even he will be nervous as he hasn't scored big recently. Hope he performs well and gets back to form.

Kohli is showing signs of instability. He is trying to please everyone, including himself (he wants Rohit in the side). So this dumping of the 5-bowler theory to fit Pujara and Rohit in.

Anyways, hope Kohli promptly moves back to No.4 and lets Pujara take the No.3 spot. Rohit can bat at No.6 where its even more easier (or have Rahane face the 2nd new ball at No.6 and cushion and cozy Rohit at No.5, whatever the heck he wants to do).

Great to see Pujara back. Though they retained that talented clown Rohit Sharma. He better score...... or he's done for. Hopefully Pujara has that confidence in him to play a good innings for the team. Though I would feel like resting maybe Ishant or Shami for Shardul Thakur.

To shelve the 5-bowler theory in a game that is expected to be affected by rain is inexplicable. I hope we do not end up unsettling our side with this unwarranted shuffling. Unlike ODIs where flexibility is useful, sides that have dominated test cricket for long periods have been very stable.

So, Ashwin makes 2 hundreds, Saha 1, both match winning one's last game and they drop to 7 & 8 in the order? Okay. I'm not a fan of the Ashwin @ 6 theory, but to demote him on a tour where he's done everything asked of him is outright ridiculous! Looks to me like Kohli is going to burn his own stable down one day!

Rohit needs time out in the middle. No position in the side is sacrosanct but Mr.Sharma can only bat at No.5. So everyone else moves around to accommodate the player who can turn the test in one session.

No!!! Inspection at 1:00 EST. Looks nice and sunny. I hope Bhuvi can do some magic after the break. (takes 8 for 15)
