International Cricket 2010 Discussion Thread

Ive been looking on this site for ages now and have decided to sign up and make a posting. So firstly, hello all..........:happy
Now regarding IC2010.
The way i see it, its a revamped AC09. If u look at the stumps in the video, you'll see that they have natwest on them. This says to me that the main feature of AC09 (ashes competition) has just been swapped for the aussie natwest series. That will also make up the new stadiums. I believe there was 18 in AC09? If it says 21 this time then with the likes of old trafford and trent bridge, that would account for your extra stadiums. Thats how i see that anyway.
As for the action cam thingy, i see no harm in it, it may well be ok. Untill we have a demo to paly we will never know.
My own opinions of AC09 were that the game itself had promise. For me it didnt really matter that the bowlers actions didnt look like we were watching the real thing. At the end of the day were not! Its a game! Of course it would be nice to have as realistic an experiance as possible, but for me there were so many other issues to sort out in the gameplay before going onto sorting the looks.
Im not going o moan about the same old faults that have all been said again and again and again on 100 different threads!! So im going to ask you all if anyone else had a stumping out bug?! I would have that fixed straight away. I would say 3 out of 10 times u leave a spin delivery you would be stumped out without being able to do anything about it!! Major bug for me!
Anyway thats all im going to say in my first post. Im sure many people will send me sarcastic comments about my posts. But to all who do....NUTS TO U!!!

Hi there, actually I agree with pretty much all you said there, very good start to your PC forum career. Will you be playing IC2010 on Ps3? If so add me as a friend, (hover over ps3 logo below my name for my ID).:D

Welcome mate! Good points, and thanks for the nuts!:)

Thx for the kind replies! I will get this on xbox as i find the online experiance much better on live than playstation. The main reason being you can use the headset during play! Otherwise it would have been ps3.
Unlike what i seem to be reading everywhere about nobody going to get it! (which they know they will) I WILL be getting this as at the end of the day, its the latest cricket game out.
Im a believer that we should support codemasters with their games. I know and understand all the issues about feeling short changed by half finished games, but if they keep looking at 90% negative feedback all the time, they may just say to hell with it. And then what will we have?! Nout but ashes 2009! Im sure this game will be better than that release. In fact im positive it will.
It has been stated in other threads about how game makers hold back ideas for later releases to keep the franchise going, and thats 100% true. If the main bugs get fixed from ashes 2009 then this will be good. They can then work on more things for IC2011. (if there is one)

Nice points you got there, but it looks kind of totally supporting the Codies for what they are doing...But we can better play the role of a feedback giver so that they know what we want the most, rather than just accepting all what they give!...Just said my view...And btw welcome to the forum!:)

I was just taking a look at the screenshots again...and i noticed that the codemaster bat is no longer given for all those un-licenced player which is great news...
And we got some new buttons like change camera and zoom and the Ready button...Hope we have a dive button for fielders!

Why would you need one? Except for catching, fielding is automatic, and the catches are set up such that if you get it in the green zone, you catch it. There will no doubt be no changes to fielding other than the camera (and AI regarding fielding, I hope they've fixed the misfields for one)

Hmm but then atleast the AI should dive by itself( in dives in the infield but not in the outfield)...

I was just reading AU Playstation Magazine the other day, and they had a preview for International Cricket 2010. The most important thing they said, was that there was a new over the shoulder camera. I assume that this is the Action Cam. They said that when facing a ball, it it will be in the Action Cam, and IIRC replays are shown using the original Broadcast cam.

So it's likely that this is the Action Cam:

I believe the point being made about diving was due to how many runs u give away from just watching your fielder watch the ball trickle past them, when a simple dive would have saved you 2 runs. At least thats what i think he meant! You dont need a dive option for that, just a simple change to the AI. Say 2 out of every 5 balls are dived on. I dont believe fielding will change that much in this edition. Small things like that will be dealt with in later editions. (small thing to codemasters anyway)
The thing i look forward to most with this "action cam" is watching the stumps fly from the ground from a perfect yorker delivery! Should look pretty smart. Even though i found it was quite hard to get a clean bowl on AC09! On hard level anyway. Or is that all down to my poor playing skills?!

I just hate the way the fielders "run" to or along the boundary. They look like they desperately need a toilet and can't be arsed about cricket.

had the same "problem" to clean bowl a batsmen

As crazy as it sounds, i think it was too EASY to hit the ball when batting. At the end of the day to be clean bowled you have to miss. Wether its due to bad timing or a well bowled ball. But on ashes it was near impossible to miss completly. Even if you didnt time it good or perfect there was a huge chance of getting an edge. A typical test match for me was about 9 run outs. 5 lbw's. 5 catches. And just 1 direct hit.
