Hampshire v Kent - C&G Trophy - The Rose Bowl
2nd Innings

Kent start their reply needing 121 runs at a runrate of 2.42 runs per over. Hampshire fans will be hoping Kent lose early wickets (:p)

7th Over

Key is the first Kent player to fall as he edges to the wicket keeper. He had been looking fairly comfortable and will be unhappy at himself for giving his wicket away so cheaply.

Its a reasonably early wicket for Hampshire although they would have liked a slightly earlier breakthrough.

12th Over

The other opener, Matt Walker is next to go. He is runout for 9. Denly hits a straight drive and sets off for the fun but he doesn't strike it as cleanly as he thought, a fielder comes sprinting in and Walker cant get back into his crease fast enough.

16th Over

Denly shows he is no respector of reputations as he smashes Warne for six this over.

23rd Over

Kent have been extremely patient this innings so far and are plodding along unspectacularly but well above the required rate. van Jaarsveld finally loses patience and tries to go for a big hit, but he mis-times his effort and is caught. 75/3

29th Over

Denly reaches his fifty this over and has scored half of the Kent runs.

31st Over

Denly is next to fall, he too gives his wicket away (for 56) trying to be clever and Kent are 110/4.

32nd Over

Denly's replacement and another emerging Kent talent Dexter hits the winning run after some good shots from Hall this over to give Kent another easy win.

I'm playing a season with yorkshire on 3 star but find batting too easy, but bowling hard, is there any difference between 3 star and 4 star battting

Great story BTW liking the graphics

Yes Batting is harder on 4 star - the timing window is much smaller. I've found although bowling does get harder, its not as big a change (but then I find it pretty easy).

how do you bowl so well mate?
Generally I just bowl straight and dont try anything fancy.

do you tend to get nicks, how is the main way you get wickets, ie spin bowlers, seamers, cutters, slower spinning and so on?

For pace bowlers I try and bowl consistantly around the same area and not at full pelt (about 5mph slower than max) then every now and then I bang in a fast one slightly wider. For spin bowlers I bowl very slowly most of the time and then a faster straighter ball every so often. I dont deal in special deliveries they seem to be a waste of time.

Ive been reading this for a while now mate, and what can i say, its amazing! im starting a season with Lancashire soon, when i get better at bowling, and hope to even challenge you slightly for the amount of fun you must get out of the games!! and great screenshots too, keep up the good work:D

Actually I'd have a lot more fun if the AI was any good. I'd much rather have the AI scoring 300-400 every now and then rather than consistantly getting them out for around 200.

Try 5 stars???
I have, it doesnt make any difference, I can still restrict them to around 30-40 a session and bowl them out cheaply.

its a joke, ive just started my county championship with lancashire, and in my first LVCC game i elected to bowl on a green pitch against hampshire, and after 24 overs the score is, 0/0!!!!! its ridiculous it really is. I can see many draws coming along

Gloucestershire v Kent - C&G Trophy - Bristol
1st Innings

On yet another overcast day, Key takes one look at the wicket and decides he'll have a bat first.

1st Over

Not the best of starts for Kent, Walker edges to the wicket keeper 3rd ball and Kent are 0/1.

1wicketrb6.jpg

Denly walks out to Join Key at the crease.

11th Over

Denly gets a bit ambitious this over, he hits 2 big sixes off 2 balls, then gets out trying for a third.

2wicketiw9.jpg

18th Over

Its 50 for Rob Key, he's been in excellent form recently and its another gutsy performance.

key50ze3.jpg

Hall falls in the same over and Kent are 111/3.

3wicketva2.jpg

27th Over

Key is finally out this over, he's runout for 87. He must be absolutley gutted. Kent are now 189/4.

4wicketee1.jpg

29th Over

Kemp is getting a bit annoyed that Lewis is still bowling and goes on the attack this over, he hits 4 sixes from the over.

kempsixessb9.jpg

32nd Over

van Jaarsveld reaches his half century this over.

mvj50mx7.jpg

But he fails to add to his score and is trapped LBW.

5wicketvg9.jpg

37th Over

Kemp is really laying into Lewis but still the bowler keeps coming back for more. Kemp brings up his 50 with a four.

kemp50ar3.jpg

Before the over is out, Kemp has added 2 more sixes to his tally.

39th Over

The dual is finally over as Lewis gets the wicket of Kemp for 76.

6wicketaj1.jpg

Jones has been watching Kemp destroy Lewis and decides he'll have a piece of the action as Stevens walks out to partner him.

43rd Over

Its doesnt take Jones long to reach his 50. He hits Lewis for 5 sixes this over, and nearly makes it 6.

jones50ah1.jpg

47th Over

Lewis again puts an end to the dual, but he has absolutley shocking (and illegal) bowling figures. Jones goes for 89.

7wicketqm2.jpg

48th Over

Ferley is runout by Stevens without troubling the scorers this over, as Kent lose their 8th wicket on 379 runs.

8wicketka6.jpg

49th Over

Stevens is next to go as Lewis and Ali strike again.

9wickettb3.jpg

Final Over

Saggers is runout in the final over, Kent were looking to reach the 400 runs, but without a recognised batsman they were never going to make it in the final over and are all out for 392.

statsgm5.jpg

WOW, no way you can lose form this position! That 0/0 is really annoying me now with you bowling teams out for about 200:(
