There's a casual variation of the game where everyone has x roles. When you get lynched/killed you get told the new role and that gets activated.

Its absolutely mental to play. Some players you have to consider their actions from the start, some people get changed regularly. Mafia people that become town can out the Mafia. People who were overtly town has to find a way to play as mafia. People get the role of their lives play dodgily to protect that and as a result pegged as scum etc etc

For it to work best (give everyone enough cover) you needs lots of killing so people and claim and counterclaim. It's tough to keep a balance at times, but it's a blast.
