It's good to see selectors rewarding domestic form and Parthiv has been in amazing form in domestic cricket. However, most of his runs came at the top of the order and Indian team has a settled top order so it will be interesting to see how he performs down the order. Or they will have to move Rohit down at 4 to fit Parthv at the top which is very unlikely.

India doesn't really have a good lower order wicketkeeper waiting in the wings. Sanju Samson is also a very technically sound top order guy. Similar with Naman Ojha, Dinesh Karthik and Wriddhiman Saha.

I doubt Bangladesh would do it for the India v Pakistan game. After all, they have a bigger rivalry with Pakistan than with India. I hope they side with us.

To be honest , even after they beat us 3-0, we don't consider them rivals. There's only one rival.

This is OK if you are a non-YuppTV member but this money is charged even for people who have TV channel packages with YuppTV. Who in the world gave the US rights of the Asia Cup to YuppTV? If you have a Willow subscription ($14.99/month), all cricketing events whose rights are with Willow.tv is available to you. I have TV channel packages with Yupp and I also have to pay for Asia Cup.

First time i had ever seen Rohit played well on a green track, great innings. Raina at 4 is good for both him & India, because he is the best t20 batsman in India. Kohli has cemented his place at 3, hence Raina should bat at 4 not any thing lower than that. Ajinkya Rahane not in the side shows the quality of our side because he was a great performer for Royals over the years, he has shown he can perform in any format & in any condition. If Dhawan has a bad time in next few matches then surely Rahane should get into the side.

What I feel is if Dhawan doesn't perform in the next match, we should give chance for Rahane. I am sure Jinx will bat well, but the question is will Dhawan bat well? Recently, he performed well in only couple of matches. It will be unfair for Rahane as he is not getting any chance while Dhawan is getting a lot of chance. Even in IPL, Jinx was batting so much better than Dhawan did. The only thing why Dhawan is getting lot of chance is, if he finds his form, he will be a great asset. Even Yuvi is in the same position but fortunately for him, no one is waiting to grab that position and he can bowl too. Also, MSD looked in a bad state in the match. I think even if he is not 100% fit(like he was in the yesterday's match), he should play only against Pakistan and maybe take rest for the rest of the matches (.i.e, Sri Lanka and UAE and if we go to finals). The last thing we want is that minor injury of his turning into major problem and troubling him in WC.

Dhawan is unpredictable in T20s. But whenever he plays a good knock, he makes sure it's unforgettable and match winning. More like Windies team who are load of such players. The players that will do uncertain things to a game: smash, hit and make every delivery count for runs, all of a sudden. That's why they're so successful in terms of T20 cricket. I think every T20 side must reserve at least one place for that kind of player. So I guess Dhawan needs to be given more time in Indian T20 team. Remember where all batsmen normally take 35 balls to reach a fifty, he did it within 24 balls (if I'm not wrong) against Sri Lanka. It's not like it was just one game, but his attitude has always been similar to that innings: Go, hit and get runs. We can't let go a player like that as far the fact is, he's the only such player we have got in our side.

Ed: Although I forgot Pandya is also a similar player, he's lower order batsman in current XI and hardly gets the chance. He has been impressive so far, anyways. Yet, it's a positive approach to play one strike batsman top the order. And if Pandya is made to play top the order, his strike rate goes down bigtime. So it's better we see him as a finisher and let Dhawan build the momentum from the beginning.

At the end, I'd say, let's not change the XI which is consistently producing good results at this stage.

as much as im a fan of rahanae, its really difficult to fit him in this t20 eleven! Also yuvi and raina needs to swap places if thats not the case i would play yuvi after pandya and msd, just as a reserve batsman in case everything falls apart! Else he is going to take deliveries at crunch times when you need to accelerate!

Sri Lanka have the same bowling attack today as to previous world cup final, except Senanayake who has been replaced with Chameera (who did fantastic job during INDSL series). Somewhat, 130 seems defend-able to me.

Edit: Hmmm. Wasn't sure if SL really could show their signs this too early. Kulasekara claims two more wickets. That's match done already, I guess.

129 from Sri Lankan in 20 overs against UAE is not odd, specially looking at SL inexperience batting order and good bouncy pitch... but UAE chasing that total against SL bowling is 1/10...
