Mistake buying console version, lesson learned

And if you are still blaming Big Ant for more love towards PC then complain to Sony or MS who make dev's pay too much for updates/patches

I keep seeing people saying this - Do you have a source?

They certainly still charge fees for patches.

There are T&C's as to timing for free patches and number of submissions allowed for Retail product (if you meet the T&C's you can get free patches, otherwise not.) The T&C's on one platform are equal and opposite to the other so you will be in breach of at least one of them.

Digital only products are tested and patched free.

I was just musing that, seeing as this isn't publicly available information (except for hearsay where people occasionally disclose stuff they shouldn't), people sure state it as fact a lot. If I had a dollar for every time someone quoted me a stupid amount of money that "it costs to do a patch", I'd almost have enough to submit one by now. :)

I'm certainly trying to keep my NDA but let you know that it's nigh on impossible to submit a patch for a Retail game and not pay something (or have to ask for a special waive of the fees).

Oh yeah - I wasn't accusing YOU of it.
But because someone named a price (at the time (about 3 years ago now), without context or explanation of the situation, for ONE platform) everyone states it as a fact across all platforms.

if they were really doing for free and as such wouldn't they be touting it out like huge feature whenever they are in one of those conferences. Info on this is really hard to come by except for that one guy claiming 40000$ in 2012 and then MS saying its free from 2013.

That first one is what I am referring to. The second one is the only thing (I believe) that MS have ever publicly stated. BUT, that statement said that it was for XBLA games only (which people don't seem to notice).

I usually don't post comments in forum, however I just started playing the game on ps4 and it is really impressive.
Thank you BigAnt for the awesome game. You are the reason that I lose sleep thinking I should play just one more game at 3 in the morning. :cheers

To the Original Poster - this is the gamble you make with any new game when purchasing on a console. At least BIG ANT have been kind enough to supply us with patches unlike other gaming companies who have left us with a buggy game and refused to assist in fixing it.

Steam is always going to have more upgrades/patches due to the relative ease it is for them to provide updates.

^ Also, PC >> Consoles

Quietly hides in the backdrop

Oh and its not that bad waiting for patches on the Consoles try being in my shoes. I have one Pissed off MRS considering I brought the game on PS3, PS4 and just today on PC to try out the upgrades etc only to find out they plan to submit this as patch 3 to Sony and Microsoft.

While its been a year doesn't sound good the fact is that they have been supporting the game for the past 12 months - already with two patches and working with the greater cricketing and gaming community to ensure that patch 3 is the last patch that we need in order for them to focus on DBC16 and beyond.

If local co-op does indeed come to consoles (and it sounds like it is); I'll buy DBC14 again on PS4 for sure. I'm looking forward to finally being able to play this with mates over several beers. My wife's going to love it.

Well done Big Ant for your continued support of this epic cricket game. Despite it not being a financial win I'm sure it's building up to something big.
