So the console users were indeed guinea pigs...

Regarding 2) we made a decision to bring mods to the Console at the expense of PC modability. Given PC users make up les than 2% of the sales ATM, I think it's justified.

Regarding 1) Everything we do graphically is performance heavy, we are still working on solutions and optimisations.

PS: @mitchell if you want answers that are reasonable then you have to actually ask a reasonable question, not make spurious rambling remarks, we've had three patches so far, god only knows what you're on about when you talk of no updates.
Thanks for 3 three patches but not much was there in the patches only bit of batting opened up in offside...but it's not up to the mark..still the batsman does play the shots smoothly on off.. wide balls are not given by the umpires...wrong reviews..running bugs ...feilding bugs and field present changing in online play...legend mode in online mode has to be tuned...slow balls should have a restriction...actually it's not much fun in online play as players are bowling wides wicket keepers are not responsive.. .and the ball gets invisible sometimes

Does not play the shots

I understand you not prioritising the PC version due to it only being that small proportion of sales, but I am disappointed that the modding on PC has gone backwards in many ways.

Less things moddable.

Limit on maximum number of logos you can have.

Despite being vectors, even on PC there is clear pixellation/jaggedness on things when you zoom in on them, much more so than with a high quality DDS file in 14, so the fidelity of mods is decreased.

The limits on size result in some things with intricate details being impossible to recreate properly e.g. the Bangladesh emblem so people have to cut corners/compromise on detail.
THANK YOU.

Why was prioritising file sharing (it's not modding when it's a game feature) over actual gameplay a thing?

I'm yet to see any uniform or emblem or sponsorship that looks better than its DBC 14 PC counterpart. The only thing that comes close are the bats. As I say this is no slight on the people who create the stuff just highlighting its limitations. All of this effort to appease the console crowd who cried over PC mods but wouldn't build a PC instead of making sure things like setting fields could happen.

In DBC 14 Ross and the team were good with the PC community but in 17 we are all pirates and who gives a toss about the PC community lol and to be honest mods are what saves their games.

.

All of this effort because console users make up 98% of sales (according to Ross)

Make not like it but makes perfect business sense

Can we expect the patch anytime soon? Or is it a few weeks away? I dont want a timeline. Just curious.
Until they actually collate the problems and then calculate solutions that wont break other solutions to problems then no. However, if you're from generation snow flake then let's say Monday in two weeks, petal? Must now give them time to get things right.[DOUBLEPOST=1487627625][/DOUBLEPOST]
this pc vs console stuff is childish nonsense from both sides.
Oh no it's not...

Game play over whistles and bells surely not...

And how'd it turn out? Problems, problems, problems. All that effort for nothing lol we've got a logo sharing system but I can't set fields when bowling, there's an extremely limited creation system but the AI won't bowl all rounders, take that away and you can't even copy the uniform to another team, they don't even have customisable vests lol no team list designer, the game is barebones outside of career mode but we've got a file sharing system woohoo

Yeah we make up 2%, so the game sold about 20k on console in 2 months but whether that's good or bad I don't know.[DOUBLEPOST=1487629432][/DOUBLEPOST]

It's not even bells and whistles because it's just not that good. I'm sure the console crowd love pixelated uniforms but it's an eye sore when you've played better mods in DBC 14

Guess i'll badger the other half to upgrade the PC when back in town.

I can't pretend to know exactly how much effect it's had, but releasing the game a month later on PC is sure to have cannibalised a significant proportion of potential PC sales from people who only purchased once... Plus the negative overall reception of the console release would have dissuaded many more potential PC buyers. I'm not saying it'd be anywhere near 50/50 given the same release date, but I don't think it's totally fair to use this 2% figure to justify killing PC modding when these factors will have had such an impact on PC sales.

That said, it's due to the PC community and the rampant piracy of 14 (especially in Indian subcontinent) that this caution was taken with the release...

It's not black and white with a right or wrong approach. I am disappointed that we don't have a version tailored to make the most of the PC platform, but at the same time understand that deep down the player base only has themselves to blame for that.

Better experience

Just not for DBC 17 apparently.

Better experience and better exclusives ;)
Depends what you want to play, I'm as pro-PC as anyone but have been considering getting a console lately because I'm massively into MMA and the UFC games are only on console... That's one of the only console exclusives I want right now but I'd take it over the majority of the PC exclusives in my Steam library.

Oh and the first party Nintendo games are always a blast... Consoles do have excellent exclusives sometimes and it's down to preference whether they're better or not than those on PC. I'd never go for a multi-platform game on a console though, those shoddy framerates... Ugh.

Nintendo are fine by me they do their own thing and stick to it. There's not one console exclusive besides Red Dead Redemption that I'm sad to not have on PC. I played that on the 360 and Bloodborne too but Dark Souls is way better.

From all the whinging from the console crowd it still seems like the PC version is better. Batting problems post patch 3? Not on PC. FPS stutter with the bowling running up? Shout out to unlocked frame rates. Do you guys have cover drives yet? Lol. Just because the game is designed for an inferior platform doesn't mean the PC version isn't the best experience. You should've used Arkham Knight as an example.

Sales on DBC14 bear the same sort of numbers, not a great variance.

DBC17 has not yet been cracked for PC, if it had, and it was released same day, then that would be a disaster for console sales - even releasing a month later is a big commercial risk, one that frankly isn't worth taking, it puts a lot of pressure on our DRM holding up.
