Bailey sensational. You on the other hand.. your getting there slowly haha nah good work mate, loving the update and everything else that goes with it. Keep it up
I'm not to sure. It's kind of hard to read, when the other text not in the pictures is red colored. It's a little confusing having orange and red writing matching together. I liked the aqua color you had earlier in your pictures. It stands out to the rest of the text.
Just my opinion though.
Well i think the orange is even more harder to read then the Aqua color. Ecspecially with the red writing outside of the pics. Maybe bold the writing not in the pics, that might help a little.
It was Saturday morning and I got up nice and refreshed ready for the day?s play of cricket. We had made our way to the ground pretty early in the morning and when we got there, George came over and had a chat to me. ?We?re looking to try and force a result in this match and it is only a 4 day match so I will probably declare sometime this session.? It was what I expected but it meant I didn?t have the best chance of scoring a century. ?Ok then, so you want me to go out there and play my shots.? He gave me a smile, ?Anything good, you should look to defend but don?t be afraid to go after the bad ball. If it?s short and wide, try and cut it over the top. Anything overpitched, play a full blooded drive. Now go get ready. We?re going out there soon.? I got padded up and ready to go out there and we got encouragement from the team as the skipper and I made our way out to the middle.
Tim Southee was opening the bowling with George on strike so I was at the non-strikers end. I was really pumped up and was ready to go on and make a big score. The field was spread for Bailey but he picked out the fielder in close his first 2 balls but got a short ball the third and he went at it hard, trying to pull it hard to the boundary but he mistimed it as it went just wide of the backward square fielder as the fine leg came around to field the ball and I was on strike. The field came in for me but there was still only one slip in place. My first ball of the day was short and down the leg side and I tried to pull it away but missed it as McCullum moved to his right to take the ball. I ran a quick single next ball though before Bailey finished the over with another run. I was failing to time the ball well though as I tried to force the runs but I finally hit a boundary although not perfectly timed over Kyle Mills? head for 4. I backed that up the next over with a four through mid wicket. I nearly lost my wicket to Grant Elliott a couple of over?s after that when I skied one but it landed safely between the mid on and mid off who both couldn?t get there. I got an edge the ball after that to move to 76*. Bailey had been scoring pretty quickly without scoring boundaries and his first boundary of the day finally came with a lofted shot through the mid wicket region which raced away for 4 as Bailey moved closer to 200 while I had just moved onto 82*. McCullum put down a sitter next ball though, Bailey edging it through for a regulation catch for the New Zealand keeper but it just didn?t stay in the gloves and Bailey had been given a life on 184.
Bailey really started to get going though after that hitting Mills for 4 with a lofted cut shot in front of point before backing that up with another lofted cut over backward square which bounced once before going over the rope for a second consecutive boundary to move to 195*. He got another 2 runs from the next ball to move within 3 runs of a well deserved double century. There was only one ball left in the over and he called for a drink, James Hopes, the twelfth man rushing around to find a drink in time for the end of the over. He finished the over with a dot and James ran out the drink. He also gave one to me which I decided to take the helmet off to drink. ?Come on George. You?re nearly there.? He gave a little laugh, ?You better start scoring some runs quickly. I?m declaring as soon as I get my double century.? I really hoped he was joking and just gave my drink back to Hopes and made my way back to the crease. He hit two singles in that over to move to 199 and was on strike for Mills? next over. Maybe another four over point would be an option. It was a dot ball to start the over but the second ball was a bit wide and Bailey tried to loft him over cover but didn?t get all of it and it rolled into a gap. ?Yes!? I called and we both ran as he celebrated his double ton and we celebrated. ?I?ll give you a chance to get your hundred mate,? he said to me. I laughed at that, ?Thanks for that. We?re only 50 minutes into the session anyway.?
I only scored one run from that over and Tuffey got brought back on from the other end. I got a yorker first up from him which I defensively played but I hammered his next ball, slightly over pitched and smashed over mid wicket for 6. Another edge brought my one as I moved to within 6 of only my second first class century. I was on strike for the new over. There was no mid off or long off in place giving me an easy hit down the ground to score 2 runs and move within a four of a great century. The field was now brought in and I mistimed the next ball as it rolled harmlessly towards mid off. S**t!!! I just went for it, trying to slog over square leg but it went straight up. The short fine leg and forward square leg tried to run back to catch it but it fell to deep and the deep mid wicket ran around but we got through for 3 so I moved onto 99. Bailey played out the rest of the over without scoring so I was on strike to Elliott. I was happy to let the first ball go through to the keeper. He ran in again. I was so nervous. 99 not out. Elliott ran in again. It was on a good length just outside off stump. It was driveable though and I just went through with the shot as it rolled out towards mid off. I shouted at Bailey to run and he wasn?t going to wait around as the fielder ran in and picked up the ball. I put the dive in expecting him to throw it at my end but he ended up throwing it to the keeper and I had my century. Bailey came over and gave me a big hug. George then declared just then at 405/5, only about halfway through the session. Bailey finished on 202* as we ran up to the pavilion to be congratulated on our milestones. I was feeling great and happy to get that century. I had a big drink before taking the gear off, ready to go out to have a field.
He's a nice captain isn't he Mr.Bailey. A good double century from him, and a more importantly good century from you. Both put on a good partnership, but George was lucky in my opinion.
Liking the bold text as well mate, looks heaps better than before, keep up the good work.
