New Zealand Domestic Season

Brownlie looking good, although Wright isn't bowling well probably really struggling with the wind.

Quite disappointing that no HRV cup games will be played in Dunedin, but at the same time the Uni Oval needed to be extended and we couldn't have both. I wonder how many people will turn up to the games in Oamaru and Alex, I'm sure the hole in the south and Queenstown will get decent crowds in though.

lol we just owned Otago. I think we're the team to beat this tournament. And we'll be strengthened greatly when the Black Caps arrive back too. Our first match loss was just a fluke :D

I have to agree, who the heck are you guys gonna leave out when blackcaps get back?!

Brad Hodge, the man!

He's only got one more game though doesn't he?

Hodge has got one more game but then we get Herschelle Gibbs :p

Yovich out for Vettori, Devcich out for Williamson, Scott for Southee I guess. I would say Wilson out for Styris but he played so well in today's game. Possibly Boult out for Styris.

The sad thing about getting the McCullum's back is we'll still be one of the worst teams going around. The batting will get a much needed boost though I suppose.

I don't know whether I want ND to win the whole tournament or not. There so strong that I would love to see them fail, but then again I wouldn't mind a NZ team putting up a fight in the Champions League.

You have to admit, we'd put up the best fight in the Champion's League. Along with Auckland. But our internationals put us above them.

Otago's problem is that they don't really have a decent bowler apart from Wagner.

Why doesn't Otago put Nash or Stevens up the order a little bit? And I didnt see Butlers bowling but 40 off 3 overs is pretty bad, I don't know why they didn't get one overseas bowler Nash and Stevens are almost doing the same role.

Well that's the same as CD - Blackwell and Yardy do basically the same thing... and they have Worker as well who's a left arm spinning all-rounder too.

Butler wasn't too bad, neither was Wagner, but Hodge and Wilson just smashed them everywhere and the ground at Oamaru is pretty small. Wagner went for 25 in one over iirc.

Hodge is all class. Had to get his eye in in game 1, but now he's smacking it.

Yeah but CD has real good pace bowlers which Otago doesn't have. Although I think they should be ok when McCullum comes back because at least they will get some good overs out of him and Beard.

Why did CD play four pace bowlers, on a pitch where they knew they were going to get eight overs out of their two overseas pros, plus they also had N-B and Worker.

Very strange selection, you'd think they would have bolstered up their batting, or played Nethula.

van Wyk had a bit of a shocker, his keeping was below par in the last few overs, and he missed a trick in terms of his bowlers, and taking like five scoops before he put a fine leg in place.
