New Zealand Domestic Season

Yeah, I'm still trying to think whether or not I should give him a one point batting rating improvement on last season for NZPL season eight. :p

In all serious he's actually one of the players I'm not sure on how to rate (because of how contaminated his stats are with random matches), along with a few other players.

Sherlock's injured too much really. He has looked pretty decent though

He's turning out to be probably the best overseas player in this tournament so far. Apart from Brad Hodge, but he's finished his stint over here.

You need to go find the posts rubbishing him earlier in the thread to rub it in Callum's face :p

Haters gon' hate.

Rate him somewhere between Bradman and Tendulkar, that's what I do.

You should go and find all of his matches and separate them into ones played for Essex and ones played for the Netherlands :p

But then they'll still polluted, as most the top players don't really play domestic cricket (except T20).

E.g. 84% of Tendulkar's List A matches have been at the international level.

While only 2% of RTD's List A matches have been again test playing nations.

Sure he averages 69 in ODI's, but when 24 of your 27 of your ODI's have been against minnows, most have decent county players would do that.

I'll stand by what I've said numerous times before as well, if he was as good as his averages suggest, he'd be playing for South Africa or England.

If you just take all his Essex matches though you'll see what his average in the English county cricket is like though and can compare it to others on the county circuit

fearsome tweak that's gay, getting our match against the easy beats abandoned. :mad

It shouldn't make too much of a difference hopefully, as Northern are always going to be ahead of us when we're on equal points (NRR), and this will keep us above Canterbury even if they win their match in hand.

Both sides were going in very bowler heavy, we had Mills down to bat at seven, while they had Nathan McCullum down to bat at five and Butler at six.

Butler at 6, sure he can bat, but you don't want someone who really only relies on 6's batting at 6. I'm sure Wells would've batted above him depending on the situation of course.

So do we get a point? :p

Wells is an all-rounder who has opened the batting so Butler would only be ahead of him as a pinch-hitter I'd think.

Butler was down to bat at six on the sky line-up, and on the line-up on the blackcaps website.
Wells batted below de Boorder in his only other T20 match, while Butler has batted above de Boorder in all his T20 matches this season IIRC.

Yeah, they started on time and got in 2.1 overs.

It wasn't really raining much where I live all afternoon, bar a few showers, so I was surprised that they didn't go back on.

tomorrows match will probably be rained out too so we have to win against canterbury on tuesday. btw i really think Vincent should be opening the batting its often that he comes in at high pressure situations and then mostly fails.

He got dropped for today's game.
IIRC in the first 5 rounds he scored 55 runs in 5 innings, at a S/R of 75.

If we're going to compete with the Knights I think we need to play another batsmen, hence I'd probably drop Martin in-place of Vincent from the side we were playing today.Munro and de Grandhomme should be able to get through four overs, and Mills, Bates, Hira and Adams should be able to get through four each.

Tuffey's meant to be returning for tomorrows game, so fearsome tweak knows what they plan to do then, as Mills, Bates, Hira and Adams are all more or less lock-ins, so I'm guessing they'll probably drop Martin for him.

It sucks how the triple header here is played on the first ████ weekend in ages as well. It's actually more of a quadruple header, with three HRV cup games and the Auckland v Pakistan T20 all within six days of each other.
