New Zealand Tour of India, November 2010/11

New Zealand's slow scoring has almost eliminated the chance of a shock result in favor of NZ. I dont think they will do a sporting declaration and give India a lead of 50 odd and let them bat again. I guess our bowlers should bowl better tomorrow. Tough and slow wicket for the bowlers and the NZ batsmen have so far played with lot of patience which is good for them.

Still think India's win has a chance of 20% with Draw being 79.5% and NZ win being 0.5%.

Dam, that was a massive wicket in the last over of the day.
Great knock from Ryder though, I've never felt that Indian bowling attack is anything special, and he along with Williamson proved that you just have to apply yourself to the cause.
Hopefully Williamson can push on, and get his 100, and more.

You felt if Ryder was still there the match situation would be completely even, but now it's swung slightly back in India's favour.

If India manage to pick up a wicket in the first half an hour, we could easily be all out by lunch, and then still have to survive the whole final day.
Vettori's generally a bit hit and miss, but if he gets settled though we could put on a good 100 before lunch, and only trail by 50.

This match is heading for a draw unless Sehwag plays a gem in 2nd innings. Only then India would have a fighting total and enough time to bowl NZ out.

What happens if we get a first innings lead, Bennett comes back and bowls with a vengeance, takes a five-fer, Vettori takes a few wickets and Williamson another few, and we get 200 to chase in 2 sessions huh? Extremely unlikely but don't think we don't have a chance here!

We can play what-if game all night :p What if Tendulkar opens with sehwag and both score brutal 150+ I know this wont happen but still there is a possibility :D

I'm just saying that it doesn't have to be a victory in India's favour ;) We have a chance of winning as well, but the most likely outcome is a draw.

Chance of NZ as I said before, is 0.5%. Cant see them winning unless they do a miracle. They are 156 runs behind with 5 wkts in hand and people are talking as if they are in some kind of a lead (for NZ, its big thing to get till here).

Its most likely a DRAW or India win.

The only way either team is getting a win is if there is a major collapse in either this innings, or the last two. If both teams bat reasonably well, from here on out, then it's a draw.

and I'd back NZ to collapse way more than India.

India win or draw for me

Only if India manages to dismiss the NZ side before the mid-way of the 2nd session of the day, they stand a chance for a result. Otherwise, it looks like a draw at this stage. :)

Century for Kane Williamson on debut! A very well played innings, hopefully he can go on and score many more runs today :)

Great to see him score a ton on debut. I was quietly hoping he would fall short and glad he didn't. Well played but really has to knuckle down and try get a big score.

The way the pitch is going he could do a Sinclair and score a double century on debut. Just wouldn't want him copying the rest of his career :p

Flat and slow deck at a venue which should not be hosting test cricket. When will the BCCI learn. Another reason why this is so painfully boring is that the Kiwis are playing for a draw, clearly. Whereas in the Aussie series, both sides were looking to win even on Day 4 with 2 innings to go and what we got was 2 cracking tests. Unfortunately it wont happen here with the Kiwis playing for a draw right from the start and the pitch offering absolutely nothing at all. This is what happened in the previous test at this venue as well.

Can`t we just call this series off and head to SA straight away. Noone seems interested. Well done to Williamson though, looks a player.

Some guy on wrote this in to Cricinfo:

Steve: "Kane Williamson played against my school first XI (Daniel Vettori's old school) and could only manage 91. Therefore, my school is better than the Indian team and so is the best cricket team in the world."

Just made me laugh.
