New Zealand Tour of India, November 2010/11

I am really excited to see Zaheer and Nehra ripping the Newzealand batting tomorrow!

Parthiv Patel...Rohit Sharma...Yusuf Pathan...Ravinder Jadeja...Munaf Patel...Yuvraj Singh

UGH. A collection of all the players I absolutely despise. Great. :rolleyes

My lineup for tomorrows would be

Gambhir
Vijay
Kohli
Yuvraj
Tiwary
Pathan
Saha
Ashwin
Khan
Patel
Nehra

It should be tough to chose between Jadeja or Tiwary.

If Jadeja plays then it will be his last as Rohit Sharma still has a Ranji game so he would replace him in the 4th ODI.

Also it would be nice thing to see 3 proper spin bowlers. with 3 seamers.

If Jadeja does not play and Saurabh it's just that they want only 1 all rounder + Yousuf is from BarodA

I would've liked to see Saurabh Tiwary in the squad instead of Ravindra Jadeja. He can be a sound, hard-hitting, lower order batsman of international standards in the forseeable future if he receives proper grooming, training and opportunities, in the form of matches, to showcase his talents. Having a decent batsman who can open his arms and add aggressively to the total in the slog overs is better than persisting with crass allrounders. He may not get a break in the World Cup, but he's certainly a long term prospect.

Thing is that we are clinching matches even with this second string side. It's an auspicious start to the match by our bowlers, with three wickets down already. Zaheer on fire! :yes

Man, there's just so much wrong with our top order.

How many times have we seen McCullum and Taylor get out those exact, yes exact same ways, are these guys even getting coached?
Taylor just swinging outside off, and McCullum pushing early on and edging.

Guptill yet again just finds a way to get himself out.

Williamson's batting this series has been some of the worst I've seen in the while, yes we've lost an early wicket in every match, but he's doing so much wrong.
Firstly he's not an international number three ATM, that's not really his fault, but down to the selectors.
Secondly he has no ability whatsoever to rotate the strike, when you lose early wickets that's exactly how you rebuilt an innings, you don't blunt the attack for 15 overs with dot balls. On top of that he's batting the
Thirdly I'm sure his batting is technically wrong, in three out of his last four/five innings, he's got out because of a massive gap between his bat and pad, I'm no expert, but in these cases he's not trying to do anything with the ball but punch it down the ground, and he's just getting out.
Like he's got talent to burn, but you have to wonder what coaching if any he's getting.

^^ If seniors in NZ team would have been contributing may be expectations of Williamson would have ben a tad less. I think he is a very talented batsman and hopefully patience of selectors doesn't run out on him soon.

I don't mind if he's out there batting slow because of the loss of early wickets, but you have to rotate the strike, which he has NO ability to do.

Generating a S/R doesn't mean swing your bat at everything, but if your going to stonewall 50 balls, at least do it in a gap so he can get a single.

And once he's been out there a while, he has to simply bat to at least the 40 over mark.

Our whole team's really in tatters though, so I know I shouldn't be pointing the finger at him, considering he's the least experienced player in our top seven.

What is newzealand upto? Already 7 losses in a row and what more adding one more? Even Bangladesh would win a match here or there

This series is reaLly boring one way contest

When I saw the 1st and 2nd test I thought they would give some sort of fight but we are seeing a different team Al together

Well, Taylor's in a horrendous form, Mccullum is coming back from an injury, and Ryder's not here. I wouldn't really judge NZ by this series.

It seems as though nobody can win with you tbh. After the second ODI you called for Southee, Mills or Nathan McCullum to open if Brendon McCullum wasn't available to help get New Zealand of to a quick start. McCullum comes back and fails (which is going to happen on a pitch like this) and all of a sudden we get "What the hell was that, they shouldn't be playing those shots"

Live by the sword die by the sword.

I don't think your giving Munaf Patel enough credit for his ball to get rid of Williamson in the second ODI either. Sometimes the bowler in one day cricket can actually get the batsmen out with good deliveries, that ball being excellent. It jagged back a good six or so inches and hit the top of off-stump, it doesn't get any better then that.

Hope Zaheer doesnt play all 3 games this series. Its a waste of time for him to play all 3. One more at the max, thats all. He said on Twitter that this is the best place for him to get rhythm. For that, 2 games are enough. Considering his history, I fear that he might catch up some niggle or the other here that could affect him in SA.
