Wow, we got owned.
We were a good 20 runs short with the bat, and bar Vettori and McCullum our pace/medium pace bowlers got taken to.
In the partnership like the Guptill - Williamson one, inside the powerplay one of them has to actually play their shots, it's alright Guptill anchoring the innings (or Williamson), but for the second match in a row Williamson's been in a terrible ODI partnership. He just doesn't seem to be able to rotate the strike with the field up inside the ring, especially through the off-side, and he got out in the same way in the test series, so that bowled is probably something technical.
I didn't see after that so I can't really comment as it'll just be off the scorecard.
If Brendon's not back next match, I'd look to put either Nathan, Mills or Southee up to open with Guptill, drop How to three, and then drop Williamson down to five where he should be. What they're doing ATM just isn't working, and they have to mix it up someway or another.
They just seem to be a side at the very bottom in terms of confidence, as that's the 13th match in a row that we've not managed to win. (2 have been N/Rs, and 2 have been draws)
I remember last time pre-world cup we demolished Aussie in the Chapple-Hadlee, it didn't work going in on a high, so hopefully this world cup it might work going in with no form whatsoever.

You know he hasn't batted at seven since 2006.

On Sreesanth, he's got the 2nd worst E/R ever for a bowler who's taken over 50 ODI wickets, he's very average, but he's been made to look alright by a very average NZ batting line-up. He's only actually taken one top five wicket this series, and his E/R has been well over five.
