New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka, 2009

I do want to see some cricket mind you. The openers getting a bat, seeing some spin etc. Bit of practice.

Yes some time in the middle on this type of pitch would be beneficial

Yea I was looking forward too actually seeing us play test cricket again, I hate watching test cricket when their are rain interuptions. I just want to see how we go against Mendis tbh, I haven't see that much of him (T20 WC only).

Should go with three seamers tbh, don't know how well Oram will go.

I wouldn't drop Patel with how well hes been playing, Tuffey will have to miss out there just isn't room.

It wont be a draw.Sorry.:noway
It'll hardly take one day for the Sri Lankans to dismiss the kiwis twice.:p
No offense to the kiwi fans here.

BBC weather report is total rubbish as well.
Just checked today's forecast (done earlier) at my place and it was rubbish!
It probably wont rain in Galle from Day-2 onwards.
Bad news for the kiwis.

I dont think Mendis will get a chance, becuase Murli is back in test sqaud + Herath bowled superbly against Pak, is Mendis magic over? He didnt get wickets in IPL, series against Pak in Pak,against India in SL,he was not that effective in recent past...

Should we just start talking about the second test now :laugh

Five days of thunderstorms, lucky.

Weather forcast still looks grim although its looking better than it did a few days ago. 70% chance of light rain showers its saying now was 90% chance of heavy rain showers yesterday. Hopefully we can get some play in.

there is bit rain around in sri lanka, might be helpful for NZ. well it would be good for NZ if they can play for a draw but for cricket its not much fun to see batters blocking everything. galle wicket is known for its spin but over the years it has become more of a slow turner. but its very unlikely NZ winning the match. lets see
