VITAL WICKET FINALLY FALLS

The Kiwis have finally broken the Martyn-Clarke partnership through James Franklin. Franklin drew Damien Martyn forward into a cover drive but beat him for pace and induced the outside edge. The ball flew low and fast to 1st slip but wouldn?t have carried if not for a diving Brendan McCullum who took a one handed beauty to send Martyn on his way?

M.Hussey 1(2)*
M.Clarke 39(82)*
D.Martyn 39(83)
Aus: 4/140 (45)
Australia trail by 105 runs
6 wickets in hand

C.Martin 0/20 (7)
J.Franklin 3/37 (16)
M.Mason 0/40 (10)
D.Vettori 1/43 (12)

Unlucky Martyn!!! Franklin having a good bowling spell!!!!
Now what is required really for aussies is absolute patience.....
Some big partnership needed.....

cheers!!!!

Just a note on the pole, I would love to know some of the reasons why people seem to be so confident on the Aussie's winning the ODI's. New Zealand are a very strong and agressive ODI side.

:cheers for everyones continued support

CLARKE FALLS SHORT

Michael Clarke has become the second victim of Daniel Vettori as the visitors again find themselves in a difficult situation. Clarke was fooled into playing a leg glance very early and got a thick leading edge straight to Astle at mid off. This brings Adam Gilchrist to the crease?

A.Gilchrist 1(1)*
M.Hussey 26(23)*
M.Clarke 45(102)
Aus: 5/172 (52)
Australia trail by 73 runs
5 wickets in hand

Need patience!!!!
Aussies are extremly struggling!!! Gilli shd make some difference!!!!

AUSTRALIA IN TROUBLE

Now Australia is really on the back foot after loosing the MOM of the first test Adam Gilchrist. Gilchrist was forced into a tentative nudge at a swinging ball from Franklin which created a thick outside edge that flew to gully. Nathan Astle then dived sideways and took a ripper to end Gilly?s innings?

B.Lee 2(3)*
M.Hussey 30(25)*
A.Gilchrist 3(3)
M.Clarke 45(102)
Aus: 6/180 (53)
Australia trail by 63 runs

HUSS AND LEE SAVE THE AUSSIES

Mike Hussey has again risen up in the Australians time of need and scored a 50. Hussey has been the only batsman in the innings who has looked totally comfortable at the crease, hitting ball to the fence and one two occasions over it with unnatural ease. The amount of ball faced in his 50 shows this. Brett Lee is also quickly developing into an all-rounder and is currently 19* including 2 fours and a 6?

M.Hussey 51(39)*
B.Lee 19(12)*
M.Clarke 45(102)
Aus: 6/220 (56)
Australia trail by 25 runs
4 wickets in hand

LEE CAUGHT OUT OF THE CREASE

The Kiwis may have a chance at having a slim 1st innings lead after Brett Lee was stumped off Daniel Vettori?s bowling. Lee charged out of his crease and tried to smash the ball through mid wicket only to be beaten in flight. Lee desperately tried to get back into his crease but his bat was still in the air when the bails were flicked off?

M.Hussey 51(39)*
B.Lee 19(13)
M.Clarke 45(102)

WARNE RECEIVES A ROUGH DECISION

Shane Warne is rightly fuming at the umpire for a shocking LBW decision that forced him to depart the crease. Warne tried to flick a full ball away from Oram who had just been brought into the attack but missed it completely. A half hearted appeal by Oram and McCullum followed but the umpire ruled that ball was hitting leg stump and gave it out?

J.Gillespie 1(3)*
M.Hussey 56(41)*
S.Warne 4(6)
M.Clarke 45(102)
Aus: 8/230 (59)
Australia trail by 15 runs
2 wickets in hand

C.Martin 0/27 (8)
J.Franklin 4/50 (19)
M.Mason 0/57 (12)
D.Vettori 3/89 (19)
J.Oram 1/6 (1)

As its a green pitch..its going to be a close contest!!!!

NEW ZEALAND FINISH THE TAIL

The Kiwis now will be looking forwards into their second innings after getting both Dizzy and Kasper in the same over. Gillespie top edged a sweep of Vettori while Kasper tried to drive a wide ball and gave a faint nick to McCullum behind the stumps. Vettori finished with 5 for the innings?
