New zealand's Tour Of India (Nov 17-Dec 07, 2021)

Most likely change for the next game if Saha is still unfit.

Agarwal & Saha Out.

Kohli in and KS Barat to open.

Reckon Rahane and Pujara will be still be given more chances.

Never did that in his First Class career. I don't think that would be a wise move.

According to people who've followed domestic cricket, KS Bharat has opened for Andhra in the first class circuit. Read about this on social media yesterday from a few people who pointed this out.

But he would be keeping yes? (I actually thought he did a hell of a good job, and I've never heard of him. Was very impressed though.) So it would surprise me if he would open the batting also? I don't know who is being rested for the entirety of the tour, from the Indian perspective, but I'm assuming both Rohit and KL are out? In that case, I'd probably keep Mayank... I wouldn't move Pujara up, and I don't know who else in the squad could do it?

The amount of hatred against Rahane and Puji is pathetic. Those questioning their role in the side- Why on earth are you not raising questions of the batting coach here?

I quickly ran some queries off Cricinfo and it is evident that Vikram Rathour hasn't been able to arrest the slide in Indian batting. The below screengrab shows the performance of Indian batsmen outside of India, ever since Rathour took over.

Now, I ask, why arent questions being raised over the like of Sharma, Kohli- just cause they scored a bit more than Rahane and Puji?

The next screengrab you see- Performance of Indian batters outside the subcontinent under Sanjay Bangar (taken a 2 year period for comparison here). The difference is clearly visible. And its a massive joke that Vikram Rathour got an extension as the batting coach of this team.

So who makes way for Kohli now? Reports suggest it's could be M.Agarwal but then who opens the innings? S.Iyer, despite having a stellar debut, might very well end up warming the bench.

Rahane and Pujara also come to mind but it would be foolish to drop them even though they are struggling at the moment. Don't feel we have reached that level of desperation yet.

For NZ, they really should bring back N.Wagner. K.Jamieson is likely to keep his spot given his stranglehold over our batting. That leaves W.Somerville as the likely player to miss out should N.Wagner make the playing XI

Oh my God! Bat first. :facepalm

Literally raining like anything since last 2 days here in Mumbai. A soggy red soil pitch will definitely make it difficult to bat early on. Bat 2nd would've offered better conditions to bat on.

Since 2011 here at Wankhede, no team has won a game batting first!

Teams generally bat 2nd and score 500-550 runs and bowl out the opposition without having to bat in the 4th innings. And the sogginess will make it even more difficult.
