Day 2 Session 1...Aussies dominate

New Zealand came into bat on the second day with lots of confidence . Their middle order batsmen Peter Fulton had just reached his century . Lee started the proceeding on day 2 . Fulton was looking uncomfortable to face Lee . Lee was able to get more bounce and pace than the 1st day . Ponting gave the ball to Cameron White instead of Johnson or Clark . Fulton and Franklin rotated the strike with some ones and twos here and there . Aussies wanted a quick breakthrough if they intended to stop the Kiwis from scoring a big total . And they got the early breakthrough in the 4th over of the day through Cameron White and it was the danger man Fulton . Fulton was surprised by the bounce of the ball has he tried to loft over mid on but instead it landed in the hands of Symonds . A great innings come to an end . Shane Bond soon followed Fulton to the pavilion as he was caught lbw the first ball . Bond tried to pad away a quicker one from White which struck him in front of the stumps. Simon Taufell had no doubts and gave him out . White was on a hat trick in his next over . But he never got a chance to bowl the hat trick ball as Lee finished of Franklin . Franklin got a slight nick and was caught easily by Gilchrist . New Zealand just added 9 runs on day 2 as they got all out for 367 .

Hayden and Jaques the openers for Australia came in . Bond was given the new ball . With bond Gillespie shared the new ball . Bond and Gillespie were able to restrict the scoring for the first five overs . But as Jaques played a great flip of his pads shot for a four the scoring began . Hyaden to started with his superb shots . Hayden and Jaques both rotated the strike as well as hit the loose balls for boundaries . Hayden was just in smashing mood . He was smashing Bond , Gillespie and Franklin for fours . While Jaques preferred staying off strike . Cover Drive , Late Cut and the Pull shot were the highlight of Hayden's innings . While Jaques also got a couple of boundries playing the leg glance and the on drive . Styris was given the ball by Vettori seeing that his other quicks were being too expensive . But Styris first over became the most expensive over of the match as Hayden smashed him for 19 runs which consisted of 3 fours through the off side a six over third man and a single . Hayden's inning was just being entertaining to watch .

Hayden and Jaques goes after the bowlers

New Zealand needed a breakthrough . They needed Hayden's wicket who was turning out to be a nightmare for the Kiwis . Gillespie got the break through but of Jaques . Phil Jaques was beaten by yorker and was bowled by Gillespie . Jaques went for a well made 27 . In came in the skipper Ponting . Hayden reached his 50 with a great shor for 4 through square leg . Soon Ponting got in the act with a couple of fours . Ponting played his trade mark cut for four as well as his cover drive for 4 of Gillespie . Vettori was running out of ideas . Soon he brought him self into the attack . But that didnt work as Hayden and Ponting scored 13 runs of his 2 overs. At Lunch Australia had scored a commanding 130 runs for the lost of just 1 wicket . Hayden remained not out on 66 of 70 balls. While the Kiwi bowlers were too expensive .

Thats clear domination from Aussies. Kiwis need quick wickets to put up a competitive display :) Keep up the fantastic works :clap

Which Kiwi bowler had the least economy rate in an innings of a test matches ?

a)D Nash
b)B Yulie
c)B Congdon
d)J Convey

shantanu, this took me sometime to learn about these players since its the first time I came across these names except Nash.

Code:
Nash : 2.56
Congdon :2.29
Coney : 2.04
Yulie : 2.51

So it must be Coney. :)

LOL well as only 2 have answered and Suren has told the answer, is it by any chance Nash ;)

Another great update. The Aussie openers have done an excellent job.

well bowled White, but fulton deserves a nod of respect for his 100

with hayden and Ponting building this could be devastating, NZ need quick wickets

Should be a close match, Aussies should at least have a 100 run lead by the end of the innings

Im saying corey for predicta.

I hope NZ bowl really well now and get the aussies for under 300

This is brilliant, love the scorecards, and the pitch maps as well as the wagon wheel of Fulton's innings. On to the match, a poor display in the morning session of the test by New Zealand, from both their batting and bowling points of view. They should have got more than 367 after Fulton's century, and now they're suffering under the pressure of bowling to excellent batsmen. They need quick wickets after lunch!

All of a sudden the Kiwis collapsed. Australia came back strongly in the match and now if they get a big partnership then i can see Australia dominating the game. Awesome graphics and awesome presentation. :clap :clap
