A win is a win, the aussies did have the advantage of batting on a good pitch and playing 50v50 over match. I think if the Ireland innings had been batted to 50 overs, they might well have been bowled out for less than 150. That may seem unlikely given they reached 117 off 20 overs, but they would have batted less aggressively and England could have used their more effective bowlers more. They had licence to hit boundaries as they were only facing 120 balls, so hit as many fours as England did in 50 overs. As T20 over innings go, that wasn't a good total they hit and it's only down to worthless duck methodology that it was close. Make them bat 50 overs and they would have faced more of a test
