Nice update. Pakistan are going really good but Afridi isn`t looking like the real Afridi. 300 should be up. Go Afridi:D

With 7 wickets in hand, Pakistan should try and go for 300... They shouldreach 280 with ease... Afridi needs to play sensible here...

Congrats Arslaan for winning SOTM and also for 400 posts of your thread :)

Sharjah Cup
New Zealand vs Pakistan
Live from Sharjah

End of Pakistan Innings
(New Zealand require 290 to win)

As the overs went by, the sun was just about to set and as a result the floodlights were turned on in the 45th over.

A tired Malik was still rotating the strike as was Afridi. After the 46th over, Malik and Afridi had a lengthy chat. It was then Malik unleashed. He smashed Styris straight back his head for a boundary and followed it up with a massive six over mid-off. The crowd erupted into cheers. However, Malik's fantastic knock eventually came to an end.

Knowing he has wickets in hand, Malik attempted the same shot over mid-off. Instead of getting the elevation, he hit it flat and immediately knew he was out. Jesse Ryder took the catch as Vettori and other New Zealanders rushed to Malik and shook his hand. Malik trudged off the field with his bat raised and the crowd acknowledging this by standing on their feet and clapping.
B.Richards: In the air...this should be taken....it is. Thats the end of Shoaib Malik and what an Innings it has been. Danial Vettori runs to shake his hand. It has been a sensational knock from this young-man. He departs for 139 and Pakistan are now 273/4 with 14 balls left.

Soon after BOOM BOOM Afridi departed for 42 in the same fashion as Malik. Alam and Razzaq were getting singles as some tight bowling from Scott Styris was preventing Alam and Razzaq to get underneath the ball. Alam nudged the ball towards Extra Cover. Alam who is quick was looking for the second however Razzaq would be at the danger end. James Marshall's throw from the Deep was directly in the hands of Styris who removed the bails and Razzaq knew he was gone.

It took some lusty hitting from Sarfraz 8(3) and Sohail *4(1) for Pakistan to eventually reach 289/8 in their 50 overs. In their previous match against Australia, Pakistan had defended 300 successfully. Also this is a must win game for New Zealand.

Pakistan : 289/8 (50) Malik 139, Afridi 42, Imran 29
New Zealand require 290 runs to win at a require run rate of 5.8

Thats a good total from Pakistan.Great knock from Malik.Afridi should haven't really tried the same shot.Good update mate.

Great total for Pakistan, should be quite easy to defend it too. Nice update, keep it up!

Great score by Pakistan. Malik should have MOM now. I will be very suprised if your guys lose this. That is unless, your bowlers run in to bowl and all the drugs they are carrying begin to fall out of their trousers ;)

Lovely presentatiion, a great all round effort :)

Very good total by Pakistan, but its up to the bowlers, because we all know that NZ can get such a total with the likes of Ryder, Taylor, McCullum, and Oram.
It will be a great chase.

Thats gooood batting by Malik. Should be a nice game to watch. Lets see if Pakistan can defend this or not!

Nice stuff! KUTGW!

Great Presentation Arslaan, Total should be easily defendable under dewwy conditions :p KUTW :thumbs

Shame Pakistan didn't reach 300. It's a psychological advantage. They kind of slowed down after Afridi departed. Malik will be happy with his performance i'm sure.
