(Ryder and Taylor attack the Pakistani Bowlers)​

Pakistan Captain Misbah-ul-Haq ajusted the field according to Ryder's areas of hitting. However the frustration was getting to Misbah as Ryder continued on his merry way smashing his 5th boundary through the covers.

At the other end, Ross Taylor was playing a more conservative manner. The poor balls were being struck to the boundary and the deliveries on a length were being pushed for singles. Tanvir took a rest as Misbah brought Abdul Razzaq into the attack looking for another breakthrough. Razzaq had been out of the International scene for quite an amount of time and thus it was a gamble by Misbah to bring him on. Razzaq didn't start to badly. He was getting lateral movement off the pitch and nearly uprooted Taylor's stump as Taylor cautiously decided to leave the ball.

P.Symcox: Great shot, Misbah can't do anything about. Bad way to ruin the over aswell. Ryder moves swiftly onto 34.

Misbah let Akhtar bowl 9 out of his 10 overs leaving 1 till the end. Shoaib and Razzaq had made the run rate come down from 5.5 to 4.9. However, the match is still in the balance.

The Require Run Rate is at 6.4. New Zealand will want these two to stay till the 30th over then the likes of Scott Styris and Brendon McCullum can come and hit it out of the park.

I feel if Afridi was brought into the attack few overs before then there might have been a breakthrough. Ryder and Taylor have got settled in this dewy conditions and Pakistan have to keep it tight and get couple of wickets quickly to really break the partnership.

Captain Misbah-ul-Haq was desperately in need of a wicket at any costs. By this time, the score had reached 180/1 in the 31st over. By this time, Ryder and Taylor had both reached their half-centuries.

Ryder had started as the aggressor and continued to smash the ball towards the ropes. Taylor had continued to play conservatively and was putting the loose balls away as required.

In dire need of a wicket, Misbah introduced Imran Nazir into the attack....and immediately payed the consequences. It was as though Misbah was resting Gul for the death bowling at the end of the Innings so he continued to bowl with Imran, leaving out the experienced Shahid Afridi and Fawad Alam.

Ryder and Taylor didn't take any chances and played defensive against Tanvir, whilst attacking against Nazir. By this time, Misbah knew the game was slipping away from him.

Pakistan have no chance in this match anymore, even if they needed 120 off 90 balls with 9 wickets left they could have done it. I guess they are coming hard as this is a must win match for them.
