You don't get anywhere if you drop one player for having a bad game.

Yeah Ali should play again; If Mahmmod can play 3 bad games before being dropped, then surely Ali can get a second chance.

Ali's been sent back to Worcs is what I gather from CricInfo.

We have the worst selectors in the world.

lol i dont know why england have some injury excuses besides Flintoff
I mean u guys have played without Giles, Jones, and Vaughan in Pakistan and India, and drew the series in india as well. you should be used to playing without these 3 by now. England also has a better spinner in Monty instead of Giles.

On the tour of India we played well, but now even our back up players are even injured or out of form.

Our Test form seems alright, our ODI form is shocking.

Ali has been sent home? Our selectors are a complete bunch of dopes.

Isnt it the same team England will be playing in tests that they played in Pakistan and India ??

Seemed CricInfo got it wrong, or I mis-read it.

Well the teams differed from Pakistan and India series anyway.

Panesar, Cook, Trescothick all varying in and out of the team among other players.

In terms of difference from India to this series coming up.

Anderson is out which I think is a big blow as he does prosper in English conditions and he did bowl well in India.

Any chance that he'll play in the Ashes or the World Cup?

Well he was wearing a corset, if he isn't now it suggests the vertabrae is healing well. Unfortunately they don't heal quickly and if you over do it you could really damage yourself.

I'd say he'd be back for the Ashes, maybe the end of the season.

I hope he is back for the World Cup at least, especially after today's thrashing. We'll miss him in the Tests against pakistan though.

Yeh we have Hoggy and Liam occasionally swings it.

Harmison is a better red ball than white ball bowler.

If JD plays as the all rounder would they pick monty aswell?

every team has injuries..test to the strength of the team is their bench strength..and england clearly dont have much.

That's the thing though, these aren't/weren't our best back up bowlers.

Lewis, Gough even Kirtley are better one day bowlers than Ali, Mahmood and Bresnan.

Dimi Mascaranhas aswell.

The selectors are a joke.

test to the strength of the team is their bench strength

But our problem has been the strength of the back up of our bench.

Looks like both Pakistanis fighting for that opening slot are playing well. This should make Woolmer's job harder. I'd say play them both, but Malik can't be dropped.
