I agree with Brigg. I was comtemplating not buying the package for this series seeing as how many players have been injured, but I have a feeling I might miss out on something if I don't get it. :p

Also Chris Read bowling - looks like he's trying to get into the team as an All Rounder in Flintoff's position!
Key gave everyone a bowl in the second innings, only Hoggard didnt bowl (obviously).

Lets See the team as I see it (NOT MY THOUGHTS BUT WITH THE CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE SQUAD)

1. Salman Butt
2. Imran Farhat
3. Shoaib Malik
4. Inzamam
5. Mohammed Yousuf
6. Younis Khan (Could be promoted up the order)
7. Abdul Razzaq
8. Shahid Afridi
9. Kamran Akmal (Could be promoted up the order)
10. Umer Gul
11. Danish Kaneria

12. Samiullah Niazi (Might play instead of Butt)

Pakistan won't play just one pace bowler! Shahid Nazir will definately play in the side now. This also means that Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq will probably play at Lords as well- Pakistan are seriously lacking in the bowling departmentso they will need as many part-time bowlers as possible in the team!

Yeah possibly, but I'll still have my money on Nazir because he was originally called up in the squad, whereas Niazi has come right now as emergency back-up for Sami and Asif.

Harmison and Bell are back. Good for England.

But this series is turning out to be a series with a lot of injured players. It brings the quality and hype of this series a bit down.

But then sometimes back up players play out of their skin to win their place by right.

This series is going to be intriguing even if the best players aren't out there.

Agreed. Just look what England did in India; Cook 60 and 102* on debut as well as Panesar bowling well and 88 from Shah on his debut.

I think the Injuries make the series more challenging and less predictable.
The series would be more predictable if Akhtar, Flintoff, Hoggard, Asif, Sami and Rana Naved were playing?

I may be heaping too much praise on Freddy here, but when he is playing, nothing is predictable!

Darling Cricketers

He isn't playing in the first test because he's just come back from injury, and he is too important to rush him back. Do you watch the news?
I live in the US, so I don't get to watch Cricket News.
I find it odd that a player is playing Cricket, but doesn't play in a Test.

Same thing with Tendulkar, was playing Cricket in England but didn't play in the Tests.

I am a little jealous of these "Darlings" who are so well taken care of, mere mortals like me have to show up for work and lift heavy stuff, with stiff injured backs, sore shoulders and what not.

The best part was when the English coach said that the players were "demoralised" in Pakistan b'coz they had to spend all their free time in Five Star Hotels. Geez, I would love to set foot in one if only I could afford it.

Flintoff was playing Twenty20 where he gets a maximum of 4 overs to bowl as opposed to a potential 20+ overs in a Test match. Innings are also shorter in Twenty20, so it was a perfect opportunity to see how fit he was.

Also, sorry for snapping at you about the Flintoff injury mate! I didn't realise you lived in America.

Understandable, Cricket discussions can get emotional.
You have good social graces.

Akhtar, Asif, Sami, and Rana out!!!

Looks like Pakistan have no "tried and tested" Ammunition for the First Test.

One the other hand it's time for guys like Niazi and Shahid Nazir to show what they have got, and time for Umar Gul and Razzaq to step up.
