Why do we have to have such bad selectors though?

It's not only us though is it, I mean opinions differ, but there's a point.

Do you really think the selectors do a bad job? We managed to beat the Australians and lets face it before the series started nobody gave us much of a chance.

2nd test:

Imran Farhat
Taufeeq Umar/Salman Butt
Younis khan
Mohammad Yousuf
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Abdul Razzaq
Shahid Afridi
Kamran Akmal
Umar Gul
Shahid Nazir/Iftikhar Anjum
Danish Kaneria

3rd test:

same team but Shoaib in and one of fast bowlers out .

Looks a pretty good lineup for Pakistan but i am excited about the 3rd Match! Go Pindi! :happy

Yes Can't wait for Shoaibi to crack English team :p, he rules!

Fletch isn't going to give a 32 year old a go.

Coaches and Selectors get carried away in building a team for the future.
Sometimes they ignore the best players for the present who might not be around in the future.

Botham has been very critical of the English Selection System. Charged them with not giving enough youngsters a break.

As far as I am concerned, Imran Khan has the best eye for selecting players.
He brought in Akram, Waqar, Inzi, pretty much from nowhere.

Shoaib does "Rule" when he plays, which happens a lot less than Pakistan and fans like me, would have liked.

Well up to the Ashes and including the Ashes they got it right, but since then they've been terrible.

And you know that when Giles is fit he'll come back in.

They tried to start a clean slate against Sri Lanka after the India, but then went back to Solanki and Kabir Ali after a few games. I still believe Gough should be in the ODI team, as should Lewis as he has a very good OD record for Gloucs. Prior should be our keeper if we choose to play a Keeper/batsman and slightly sacrifice the assurity of someone like Read. Prior is such a better batsman than Jones, although he didn't show it in India (Many batsman have struggled in India, and he did get 6-7 starts iirc).

There is too much of an attention towards Youth, some is good but take the ODIs for instance.

Anjum is crap. Shahid impressed in the second inning but Niazi did that in the first.

Maybe it will be a good idea to have the legendary allrounder "imran Farhat" keep the wickets for Pakistan. One of the reason as to why Pak went to Eng with just one keeper was that they knew that in an emergency, they always have the option to opt for the safe hands of Sir Immi Farhat.

Pak pace attack is probably the worse ever, Sami is absolute garbage, Umar is at best mediocre while Anjum is not of test standard.

Maybe Pak should give the youngster in Niazi a chance, don't see how he can fare poorer than Sami.

No official statement has been given; but Andrew Flintoff is said to be ruled out for 12 weeks, which will rule him out of the entire summer and the Champions Trophy. This might be a blessing in disguise because he'll be fresh for the Ashes, but I can't see England winning this Test series against Pakistan now.

Why on earth did we have to rush Fred back?

We didn't rush him back. He was left out of the first test despite being thought fit by many and was given a CC match to prove his fitness.

I suppose your right. I'm just gutted at this bad news. Maybe the England players will lift themselves and perform better. I might get accused of being a loon for saying this, but maybe Mahmood should play at Old Trafford on Thursday; the pace and bounce should suit him. I know Saj preformed terribly in the ODI's but he wasn't that bad in the Test arena.
