No mate, it's the way he plays, when he is on song he can kill the bowlers, also who is'nt better then Iqbal?? Afridi can also bowl remember so they get a Allrounder then a stupid batsman called 'Faisal Iqbal'. Shoaib has 199 ODI wickets so looks like he may get his 200th VS England IF he plays.

Afridi can bowl pretty good, but if he learns to control his batting then he can become a top-quality all-rounder. Fair enough, he's aggressive but so is KP; The difference is that KP can control it, wheras Afridi can't.

Yes but I'm saying he is better then Iqbal!

but a 36 ball century cant be turned down can it, it was pure class, with control and he did actually let a few go by :p

There is no class and control about a 36 ball slogathon; It was his lucky day I guess.

Monty is a better spinner and there are a lot of better batsmen out there too.

Shoaib for 20-20 :p:p:p

Shoaib Akhtar took two wickets and smashed 57 off 31 balls as Berkswell beat St George's club by 144 runs in the West Midlands. Shoaib, suffering from an ankle injury, played for the village side in a bid to regain fitness in time for the fourth Test against England at The Oval beginning on August 17.

As long as he doesn't play in the 4th Test i'll be happy. I don't care much about ODI's and International Twenty20's anyway; They are just a distraction from the proper form of cricket. They are enjoyable to watch though.

Monty is a cracking spin bowler, and the great thing about it, he is only 24, Giles is out of the picture surely, and as much as it pains me, Blackwell wont get another look in until after the ashes im sure :(

Anyway, we should wrap the Pakistani players up before stumps tonight.

Afridi is a class player Evo, what ever you say, there is no one like him, past or present, he was brave enough to go for it, and it pulled off, he is a ODI and 2020 player, but i agree his Test place is under threat as he is just that bit too aggressive, we have KP who knows what a defensive shot is, im sure Afridi has only played that shot a few times.

I wnat him to play the 4th test alongside with Asif to show England our real bowling.

Just a bit too aggressive? The man is a liability in situations when you have to bat conservativley; I'd have him no where near the England squad until he learns to bat properly.

And i'd rather have Giles in my Test squad than Blackwell.

Blackwell is a fine player for ODI, I think.

It was deliberate understatement signalled by the face I pointed out that only 2 of the wickets had been by bowlers.
Anyhow Colly has his first giving him a splendid test bowling average of 218!!!

Not far off of Giles!

Blackwell has not had enough of a run in the side in any form. I agree his batting could be better for England but his bowling is miles better than Giles. Blackwell is not as good as King Monty, or probably me, but he is worthy of a run out at the World Cup surely!

Haha! Thank God for Sky's highlights! That Inzamam wicket is even funnier than Chris Read ducking a slowy in 99. Looks like Jones will be back in the side for the 4th test due to a few broken ribs to Read. What a dismissal; Does Inzi ever get out in normal ways other than 'impeding the field' and 'destroying wicket'.

Iqbal should maybe develop some talent equivalent to KP's before sledging him like that. I mean Sajid Mahmood wouldn't sledge Glenn McGrath would he?

When did Read break his ribs?
