Blackwell has not had enough of a run in the side in any form. I agree his batting could be better for England but his bowling is miles better than Giles. Blackwell is not as good as King Monty, or probably me, but he is worthy of a run out at the World Cup surely!

I'd prefer Dalrymple in the WC side to be honest.

Not far off of Giles!

Haha totally agree, Giles should be sooo far from the England side now that he should almost be in the Zimbabwe squad! It makes sense to me, if it doesnt to you, please say:p

When did Read break his ribs?

He didn't, I was joking, thankfully.

If we are going to replace Panesar with either Giles or Blackwell, then i'd pick Giles.

No mate, it's the way he plays, when he is on song he can kill the bowlers, also who is'nt better then Iqbal?? Afridi can also bowl remember so they get a Allrounder then a stupid batsman called 'Faisal Iqbal'. Shoaib has 199 ODI wickets so looks like he may get his 200th VS England IF he plays.

So basically it's pot luck if one of your players performs well?

That's not right surely?

Dalrymple is proved enough, he looks a good player, i like all All round spin bowlers, as i am one. :p but i still have a soft spot for Blackwell and i still thing he is worthy of a place.

He doesn't do enough with the bat, which is why I would pick JD.

You get more with the bat with Blackwell, he was great with the ball in the ODIs in India too.

Giles shouldn't be an England player in either format.

Did Colly just get an edge?

I'm a bit unsure, and no appeal from Read.

Evo, ill give you the better batsmen thing, but Blackwell is a better bowler and more experienced. JD is a good prospect but not for the WC. Im sure if Fletch will go with anyone he will choose IB, as he will be back from the injury.

Hah Sami's playing better then iqbal. welldone.

As much as I think Giles is crap, how can you say Blackwell offers more with the bat? He offers potential to score with the bat but he never delivers for England. Giles bats pretty well in ODI's. I think it was Centurion where he had a great partnership with KP to give us a respectable total.

JD a good prospect? He delivered more in his first match than Blackwell has in his entire England career.

He's more than a good prospect.

yh i dont get why Iqbal got in and Tofeeq i mean where the heck did he re-appear from all of a sudden?

I believe there was an edge, a hiccup from Read there. Ive played with the gloves on a few times and it is sometimes hard to pick up edges as you are concentrating on the ball, and if it does nick it, you cant always pick it as you are looking to catch the ball.

And Evo, JD looks good, but im sticking with Ian Blackwell as my man who i would put into the squad. I Like JD but i like IB more.

Your openers are terrible, that's why he re-appeared. This is a real problem for Pakistan.

Nah Fletch would go with JD, Fletcher doesn't like players who are lazy/poor in the field. JD offers something in every aspect. I'd play JD over Blackwell.

Blackwell has never been given a position by England, it's always changing.

Those stats clearly show he is better than Giles, he has underperformed for us, but he is a better batsman.

Snicko seemed to say it wasn't a edgey sound.
