Not bad if you see they were 20/4 after 7.3 overs at one point.

And Butt and Kaneria are in the team. Kaneria didn't have a great day, but this is the time for Butt to show his skills.

That's a good effort by Scotland; I hope they bowl well and give Pakistan a run for their money. I still fancy Pakistan to win by 5-6 wickets though.

We played pretty well. It was a really hot day and the lads did their best but the partnership between Yousuf and Razzaq just killed us. They were behind the DL rate for the first 30 overs so we were all hoping for rain!
Credit to Ryan Watson though; we all thought at 20/4 that we were totally screwed but him and MacCullum pulled us back. Well batted Dougie Lockhart as well.
We're really missing Craig Wright, Hoffman's bowling was superb (3/22 off 10) but we don't have the strength in depth with our second string. Nonetheless a great day out and I played my first game for 10 years an hour afterwards (see the superthread for details!).

Interesting you should say that. I heard a rumour today that next summer's game will be against England.

Scotland did play pretty well..but I was expectiing this to be a close game as this was Pakistan's first game after a while and on swinging wickets, but good to see Yousuf and Razzaq in good batting form before the tests.

The wicket was pretty flat. It swung early on when there were some cloud cover but not really at all after the first hour.

Congratulations to Pakistan for winning their opening match of the tour. I can't wait until July 13th... the football world cup done so no more car flags, football talk and novelty songs, it's just a week before school ends for summer and the first test begins! I really want to finish the ODI series and get Sri Lanka on the plane now- it's becoming depressing.
