Pakistan V New Zealand 1st ODI (Pak Innings 30th Over) 161/2
PAKISTAN TV ONE
30th OVER UPDATE (The 20th Over Was Forgotten By Mistake!)
IMRAN KHAN: Hello guys, I have been drafted in to cover for Inzamam whilst he pays a visit to the hair dying specialists - he's getting awfully grey all of a sudden! Maybe it's the fact that Pakistan have been so bad since his retirement! Anyway, the last twenty overs have been, once again, a mixture of good and bad for both sides. However, it has very much been Pakistan's mini-session as they have moved onto 161/2 and look firm for a victory here, although everything is still possible, like the time that England came back from staring at defeat to beat the Australians in Perth in 2006/07 Ashes Series! What a delight that was - over to Glenn.
GLENN: Cheers Imran, I may go off to the hair dyer too later on. And don't remind me of that dreadful 4th day in December 06! Anyway, back to the modern day, and Pakistan looking in firm control here. First batting highlight to come up was the fifty from Shoaib Malik in the 20th over, here are his details.
GLENN: Then came the 100 parntership between Malik and Umar, and with that, Pakistan starting looking very very strong!
GLENN: In a 20 over period being dominated by the Pakistani batsmen, Umar reached his fifty a few overs later. Here are his details.
GLENN: However, a great piece of bowling managed to remove Taufeeq Umar just as he was getting into full flow. This gave the New Zealand bowlers renewed hope to try and create some sort of a collapse to give them a victory.
GLENN: And that's it for this round of highlights, join us again soon. Hopefully in the 40th over, unless Pakistan get bowled out earlier than that. Back to Imran with the scorecards and stuff - now, where is that hair dye?
IMRAN: Nice set of highlights there Glenn, first time I've managed to see them and you should be really proud of them - and your hair colour suits you, no need to change it. Here are the scorecards and your usual data from the 30th over.

40th Over Update
IMRAN: Yes, I am still here - and have been witnessing a disaster for Pakistan over the last 10 overs. The middle order has collapsed in dramatic fashion with none of the new batsmen yet into double figures. The much-talked about M Saeed didn't last too long, but neither did the experience of Younis Khan. New Zealand will be delighted and are homing in on victory in this first One Day International - over to Glenn with the highlights package.
GLENN: Yes indeed! A very good ten overs for New Zealand's bowling attack, not so good for the batting of Pakistan. 5 wickets fell in the last ten overs to leave Pakistan in a dangerous position, although not out of the game yet, the tail is not strong and it looks like a defeat for this Pakistan team.
GLENN: The first breakthrough came early on when M Saeed was caught for just 6. He was soon followed by Malik and Younis Khan (92 and 2 respectively). Malik had been the stalwart of the Pakistan innings, but after he and Khan had gone, it started to look like a New Zealand victory was coming. Here are the details of those three wickets.
GLENN: Then there was a little resistance for a couple of overs from Afridi, but, eventually, he was dismissed - and it was not long before Rana Naved ul-Hasan, the supposed "all-rounder" followed. Pakistan were in desperately deep trouble, and were now on the verge of quite a significant loss. Here are the details of the two wickets.
GLENN: So with Pakistan in trouble, it's back over to Imran with the 40th over graphs and the like.
IMRAN: Well done Glenn, nice set of highlights there from a Black Caps perspective, not so much from my perspective. Anyway, here are the usual graphs and scorecards for the 40th over - join us soon!

INZY: Hello guys, I'm back. However, I'm back to some bad news as Pakistan have lost this first one-day international against New Zealand by 17 runs! I am thoroughly disappointed and I shall ask Younis what he thinks about the performance later on. Now over to the final highlights of the match with Glenn.
GLENN: Ah, look guys - don't get too upset - there are still 4 ODI's left in this series. What will you be saying if Pakistan win it 4-1? Anyway, over to the highlights. Well, in the 40th over, Pakistan lost two wickets in three balls to be 9 down and make it look like they were going to be thrashed. However, a spirited last wicket 50 partnership saved Pakistan from a heavy defeat. Here are the details of the wickets to fall, and the partnership.
GLENN: And now let's have a look at the final graphs of the match - including both Pakistan and New Zealand innings.

POST MATCH PRESENTATIONS
INZY: Hello guys and welcome out to the middle here at Rawalpindi Cricket Ground. Now we will announce the man of the match - who is...... Stephen Fleming, New Zealand captain.
STEPHEN: Well, this is an honour. Thanks very much to Pak TV One for giving me this award, I shall treasure it for years to come. Anyway, we played well today, and overall, I thought we deserved the win.
INZY: Were you worried when the 2nd wicket partnership did so well, did you fear a defeat?
STEPHEN: To be honest, yes I did. We lost control during the early part of their innings, but our bowlers came back when their batsmen threw away their wickets. We then took control of the match, although that last wicket partnership worried me for a little time.
INZY: Yes, Kaneria and Akmal batted very well together and should be pleased that they made the defeat less hard to swallow. Younis Khan is not available at the moment because he has become stuck in his shower. However, I can assume that he can't be too happy with the bowling or batting performance.
IMRAN: Join us in a couple of days for the second ODI of this fascinating series.
