Pakistan Tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe - April / May 2021

Sarfaraz would be the happiest person now because :
1 Rizwan dropped a catch and got dismissed for 0.
2 Andile Phehlukwayo got smashed for many runs :lol

Blessing in disguise!

I think his fall in performance could be related to multiple injuries in the last years. He needs a long rehab period to recover. I wouldn’t mind him missing the PSL, honestly it would help Islamabad rather than hurt us :p

You guys have power hitters like Ifti chacha and Asif Ali so you guys don't need to worry :p

I was wrong about Fakhar, I wish he continues his run, it’s gonna be amazing seeing him and Sharjeel in T20s specially with the World Cup coming up. Growing up watching our top order collapse game after game, series after series, year after year, I’m so glad that recently majority of our runs have come from the top order. But at the same time our lower-middle order could use handy batsmen/batting all rounders

Rizwan, Babar, Fakhar, Sharjeel, Haider, Hafeez. Who to leave out in T20Is?

I think he hasn't recovered yet after the he was upgraded by Fakhar.
Seems like Shamsi's common sense has also gone out into orbit with his deliveries to Fakhar

Lol at this. His skipper Bavuma said yesterday 'Zaman was getting close to the target so when things aren't going in your favor, you got to find ways to turn the momentum around. It was clever from Quinny...I don't think he broke the rules'.

Either Shamsi is lying or his skipper, and honestly the better option is that both are lying. That was clearly against the spirit and law of the game. Simple! Nothing else to it than this. Poor sportsmanship, umpiring, and refereeing yesterday!

He hasn't recovered from the shock he recieved by Fakhar.

When you look at it (replays), it does not look bad and Fakhar should have focused on completing his run, however here are my 3 cents. QDK was laughing so that was intentional, his team mates saying other wise is stupid. Even replays show him laughing. Second, Fakhar was on 193, he must have been tired af! I do not blame him if was a little slow completing his second run, so the pundits asking Fakhar to run fast and focus on running are to be honest barking on the wrong tree. Give that man a break. Third, even if Fakhar remained not out, Pakistan was not winning but he might have scored Pakistan's first ODI double century.

It is interesting all round and will make the 3rd and final ODI even more interesting. Pakistan has a high chance to win the last oen if they play to their strengths.

A-Grade shithousery from de Kock. Then again, what do you expect from someone who's about to leave his nation in the middle of a 1-1 series. No respect whatsoever.
While being pissed at him for his doing is one thing, I am not sure being pissed at him for leaving to play a tournament that will earn him shit load of money and perhaps even more viewership and T20 WC practice should make you lose respect for him.

Sharjeel will be a liability with his atrocious fitness, running, and fielding. As much as I would dislike it happening, Haider will have to play in the middle-order.

My top 5 would be:

Fakhar Zaman
Mohammad Rizwan/Babar
Babar/Rizwan
Hafeez
Haider Ali

2 anchors with 3 who can go berserk, followed by the likes of Faheem, Danish, Shadab, etc. This will be a solid batting lineup.

Mate, you sure about that? Fakhar was completing his run. As soon as he looked up and saw de Kock pointing towards the bowler's end, he turned around and slowed down.

I completely agree with the three points you raised above. Especially the third, we wouldn't have won anyway but what a shitty way to end a fantastic game and a fantastic innings. Just leaves a terrible taste in your mouth.

I AM pissed at him, but I'm even more pissed at the fact that the umpires did nothing about it. Furthermore, the commentator's were laughing about it, like wtf? Like CK said in the thread earlier, the merits of the rule can be discussed all we want, but if it's an active rule then the authorities supervising MUST enforce it. What's even the point of having the rule if it isn't ever going to come into play?

Secondly, if you are someone that values money and fame over national duty, then by all means, you do you. I'm not gonna hold it against you if that's how you feel. You or anyone else has every right to feel that way. The 'no respect whatsoever' part wasn't about me losing respect for him, it was about him not showing respect to the player. You can argue the merits of his act within the confines of the rules, but you can not in your good mind defend that in the spirit of the game since it's crystal clear he intended to do what he did. The exact wording 'no respect whatsoever' was not 'I've got no respect [for him] whatsoever', it was more 'he [QdK] gave him [Zaman] no respect whatsoever'. The whole 'Then again, what do you expect from someone who's about to leave his nation in the middle of a 1-1 series.' line was thrown as a jibe at him. No relation to the respect bit.

I'm obviously not losing respect for him for wanting something for himself. I guess the way I worded 'no respect whatsoever' is why you thought that's what I meant.

Money and fame aren't everything. Being a national Cricketer and former captain of your side, with a national central contract, you should be 100% committed to your country, no matter how lucrative this glitz and glamor of leagues are. Yes, you have the right to earn, but after all, the country has invested time and money in you. You owe it back to them. de Kock and his global compatriots preferring leagues over the national side would struggle to be picked in the IPL without international experience. Also, these players are setting a very dangerous precedent which will lead to no games at all during the IPL, and players retiring early from internationals to prolong their careers in leagues, and many more obvious adverse effects for the game.

South Africa desperately needs them in the 3rd ODI with the Super League points and series at stake. They should have stayed back at least for the last ODI. That is my opinion.

Again, he was completing the run but he wasnt as fast as he should have been. If you see, he slowed down and again accelerated having realized the throw is at his end. If you re-read my post, I do not blame him. That guy was on 193 and that takes every bit of energy you have in your body to be at that stage.

Fakhar's priority should've been getting in, he failed in that. Other than standing in his way, I don't see any reason why a keeper or fielder shouldn't do what De Kock did (if De Kock was doing something other than pointing at all).
