Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe, Sep 2011

I think zimbabwe will survive this day however it was very negative approach frm them right through the start of their Innings. They went in a nut shell and paid the price

Yeah, but it is only a matter of time. They seemed at sea against the spinners and just didn't have a go. Shows you the levels at which Zimbabwe and Bangladesh play at.

You cant really have a go at Zimbabwe, they played brilliantly in both of the first innings of the game.

Should be wrapped up tom.

Well,Zim played extremely well in the First Innings but its shame that they still couldn't save the match. It was their best chance as we had a very young bowling attack on a flat wicket. You can see the 3 dismissals where batsmen didn't even try to use their bats. This show how much negative intent they had come with. This same line up survived ajmal's 50+ overs but here they threw 6 wickets to our spinners

Hafeez spinners are proving to be dam effective and he finally contributed with the bat too.

Disappointing display by Zimbabwe in this second dig, after showing they can foot it with the Pakistan B side they crumble next up.

^ Hafeez was defiantly under bowled in the first Innings. Not a great performance from Zimbabwe in the second Innings, they do some times rely too much on one batsmen. The pitch is deteriorating though, so I'd like to think Taibu & Jarvis could get us to a total that keeps us in the game. :)

Thoroughly disappointing from Zimbabwe second time around, should easily have secured a draw here but now it would take some kind of miracle to avoid defeat - another 100+ runs and a Pakistan collapse.

The balance of the side looks all wrong, at times in ODIs they have three keepers in the side and a whole load of bowlers and bits n pieces all-rounders with a long tail and the bowlers are nothing special.

That's a bit harsh, they're still a developing side plus they've got injured players out at the moment. I hope your not referring to Taylor & Coventry, they are part-time keepers and Chakabva was playing as a batsmen in the world cup.

Cheema bowled well after the first day and has taken eight wickets on a docile track be it against the minnows. I like the look of him. He is a trier.

A couple of good performances, and one very impressive performance from Mawoyo. Hopefully we can keep improving. We have a another test against New Zealand in two months time. But before that we have heaps of ODI's and T20 matches. :)

Cheema has bowled well but his not really one who can have a long term career, he is in his early thirties now.
There is also a lesson to be learnt here for the Pakistani batsman, in fact, quite a few lessons. They lost 3 wickets in chasing 88 and had a terrible collapse against the weakest bowling line up on the planet and on a pitch that should have been perfect.

^That's because of Same old faces in the batting line up i think we should try new faces in top and lower order e.g TAUFEEQ AND Akmals shouldn't be in.Middle order is quite good having Younis,Misbah nad Azhar Ali.I would prefer Asad shafiq over Umar Akmal in tests.Adnan Akmal has few shadows of His brothers keeping so Sarfaraz Ahmad would be better

Clinical win and ends the era of Waqar Younis in TESTs atleast. I am disappointed we lost three wickets in the chase. Hafeez should have finished things up with Ali. Hafeez really needed this knock to ensure that he can be a reliable batsmen for Pakistan but that didnt work out. Either ways, Cheema seems to be the brightest of the fast bowling stocl, I havent really seen much of him in the TEST but hes certainly better than the other two.

Need to get Umar out, promote Ali to open the innings and bring Shafiq in between Younis and Misbah. The bowling with Ajmal and Rehman as the frontline spinners, Gul, Riaz, Tanvir and Cheema as our fast bowling options in that particular order.

ODIs should be good, I expect more from Sohail Khan hes been knocking the doors with good dom performances so he should take the step up
