Pakistan v Australia in England, June-July 2010

Lol Dabi you just have to see the havoc Insomniac started in PC Cricket Awards Thread. :p

436 all out, quick day of scoring but bit disappointing we were all out despite the two 100s. Good contributions from Smith and Paine though.

Well seeing as its a 2 day match i'm sure Punter wanted everyone to have a bat on the first day so we can bowl all day on day 2, so i'm not too worried we were all out. Good that Smith and Paine had a decent knock ahead of their first test.

Have to agree with Simon Katich's comment though - a single 2 day game is a ridiculous warm up for a Test series. It's probably OK for the guys who played in the ODI series, but Katich and Marcus North are going to be up against it - although the Kat has been playing county cricket I believe. It's also not much good for bowlers who need to get into the wicket taking mindset not containing and getting used to bowling a few spells a day. I'll be angry if we stumble in the first Test because of it. I mean there's only 2 Tests - any mistake is going to have a huge effect on the series.

Solid Ponting, retired out on 116 from 150 balls. Hussey's on 106 from 129, top form that.
Hussey scored runs in the Ashes tour games too. Not that hard for him when he's got about 10,000 FC runs against these guys.

The Australian bowlers struggling against Derbyshire one of the worst batting line-ups in England.

Smith's taken a real beating which is especially worrying when he's probably going to be playing against one of the better teams against spin.

We always struggle against Derbyshire, because of one of our players........

Chris Rogers :p

Harsh to say we have a problem with Derby, we havent played them since 1997! Dont think Rogers played for Derby back then in 2005, i think his double ton was for Leicester. Always get dead flat pitches for tour games, cant expect 400 run victories.

I recall the 1997 Derby tour match on that Ashes tour, it was so flat, all 4 days were shown here on tv too. Bevan and Blewett scored great tons, Dean Jones was captain of derby and dropped Mark Taylor at slip, let him off big time and allowed Taylor to get some form before that famous 1st test at Birmingham.

There was a Young Aussie tour in 1995, I have some footage of Gilchrist vs Derby scoring a super ton, he sure was ready ade for test cricket back then.

Hard to get much out of that match. Johnson didn't go for a heap of runs which is a good sign, rest of the bowlers were solid.

Dabi actually uses a constructive and objective thought process, I highly doubt he will support your nominations.

Remember that well. That had to be one of the most followed tour matches in history since the furore surrounding Tubby's form was massive at the time.

Yeah exactly (sighs). We are going into a Test series where our 3 pacemen have a combined 30-odd overs between them of lead up work :facepalm Given that Johnson's usually rough coming back from layoffs and Hilfy's just coming back from injury, Smith is very green and we haven't seen Watson bowl for weeks it would be fair to say I'm worried.
