Pakistan v Australia in England, June-July 2010

Wtf? Take the dildo out please.

My point is that your posts such as "Why do we play in England" or "the drainage only works if England's playing" just make it seem that you are either downright retarded or painfully unfunny.

Since you're not breaking any forum rules, it's not my business to tell you what you can or cannot post, however unfunny jokes (or whatever these posts are mean) are not really constructive nor do they add to any conversation taking place here. So why not try and reduce these kind of posts because judging by these alone, it seems the guy posting them is either retarded or highly self-absorbed who wouldn't know humor if it hit him right in the face.

I'm not trying to get into an arguement becasue frankly speaking, as long as you're not offensive, you can post whatever you want but I just wanted to give you a heads up that what you do post is absolute nonsense.

How about England should be happy that Pakistan decided to play Test cricket in England, so they can generate money?

Pakistan could have taken the easy option for going to UAE, if they wanted to get a lot of money.

But Pakistan decided to give something back to the fans, because they are a lot of Pakistani people living in England and chose that option.

Anyway, the match is delayed it by wet outfield. The groundstaff should have waken up a bit earlier and roll the covers out. They only did it at 9.55 am, while the match should have started at 10.45 am.

Don't kid yourself. The PCB didn't decide to do anything for the fans. It went with what it thought was the most profitable deal. End of story.

As for the players, I'm sure they'd prefer to play on sporting wickets in cooler weather conditions rather than in 40+ degrees, bowling on flat wickets.

They'll probably plan to start when it starts chucking it down.

Did you read the rest of my post when I said "Why do we play in England"?

I said, it didn't rain for over a month, and now on the day of a test match it starts raining. You've taken my words otu of context.

Secondly, you always hear all kinds of praise for Lord's draingage system, and how it usually takes less than 35 minutes to clear the ground up after a huge storm, but we're going to be starting about 1.5 hours late. Also, it is unusual, because in all other games at Lord's, the drainage does take 35 minutes only - this is quite a bit.

Dabi, does this make sense to you?

Cricinfo said:
"I live not far from Lords and it has barely rained this morning. What about the much vaunted drainage?" asks Lolly. Yeah it's a good question, I'm told it's because the moisture on the field is too light, so it can't er, seep through the surface. Got it? No, me neither

Hmm.

What's your point? The Lords groundsmen are just bluffing to stop Pakistan from playing cricket? The ground isn't fit for play, for whatever reason, the water is just sitting on the surface, and is too light to get through the top surface and get into the drainage system. What's the issue? The groundsmen are doing as much as they can to get this game going.

There we go, we're starting at 12, toss due at 11:30. Happy now? or are you going to find something else to bitch about?

From what I heard, they seemed to think the problem was bad light, which makes some sense because Lords shouldn't have a boggy outfield unless it's actually raining.

Hmm.

Yes I read your post but I didn't take that line out of context. As for the cricinfo post, yes I read it but the fact remains that the outfiled is wet for whatever reason. I also believe that the groundstaff will do whatever it can to get the match underway as soon as possible. The fact that it is a neutral Test would make them more determined to get it started as soon as possible.
Your implication that since it is not a Test played by the English team, they are not doing their utmost to get it underway, smacks of ignorance and is insulting to the people who gave us an opportunity to play Test cricket. An opportunity which we would otherwise have to avail in UAE with lesser crowds, lifeless wickets and high temperatures. Granted, MCC is being paid but still the favor is theirs to give, not ours to take. Thus we should be grateful.

Don't you know? It's a worldwide conspiracy to stop Pakistan from playing cricket because as everyone knows, no one can beat us legitimately, so people have to resort to calling the rain gods to stop us and then pay the wizards at Lord's not to drain the water with a snap of their fingers.

I think it was a combination of some bad light, and then the light water that was on the surface.

Pakistan bowling first. Looking forward to seeing how Mohammad Aamer goes in England. Wouldn't have minded an early look at Steve Smith in Test cricket with the ball either, but Aamer and Asif vs Watson and Katich should be a good battle early on.

All right, play will start at 12:00 pm. Pakistan has won the toss and will bowl first.

This are the teams:

Pakistan
1 Imran Farhat, 2 Salman Butt, 3 Azhar Ali, 4 Umar Amin, 5 Umar Akmal, 6 Shahid Afridi, 7 Kamran Akmal (wk), 8 Mohammad Aamer, 9 Umar Gul, 10 Danish Kaneria, 11 Mohammad Asif.

Australia
1 Shane Watson, 2 Simon Katich, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Clarke, 5 Michael Hussey, 6 Marcus North, 7 Tim Paine (wk), 8 Steven Smith, 9 Mitchell Johnson, 10 Ben Hilfenhaus, 11 Doug Bollinger.

On both sides there are two Test debutants. I am not pleased that Imran Farhat is chosen again as Test opener.

12pm start, so is that in 20 minutes?

And thanks for telling us what we already know ZZ

No problem. Are they many people in the stadium?

I am reading now that first session will only last 1 hour. If rain is predicted in the later hours, they could take lunch at a later time.

All I'm saying is that it decides to rain on the day the test match starts, and it didn't rain for a month in England.

God, is it that hard to understand.

Duh. Australia shouldn't be able to beat us.

No problem.

Hahahahah!

Not sure who I want to win this game, I love watch the convicts play but do also think that Pak have some exciting cricketers in their side that look like a pleasure to watch.

Think I will go with the Aussies, love Shane Watson, Punter, Pup and think Hilfenhaus is a pretty good bowler. Should walk all over the Pak's.
