Pakistan v Australia in England, June-July 2010

I cant see us pulling off a crazy win from here, but I guess its somewhat possible, we'd have to bat our asses off tomorrow obviously. Would be quite insane to have 2 tests v Pakistan in the same year be equally bizarre and identical. IF Pakistan do lose they can blame their inept 1st innings batting ONCE AGAIN. Too many soft dismissals.

I'd be willing to bet that Pakistan will throw this away. If anybody can lose after bowling a team out for 88 and then getting a lead of 170, it's them.

Its true that if Australia bowled the opposition out for 88 they would be somewhere around 3/500 by now. Pakistan just dont know how to completely destroy the hopes of the opposition once they've grabbed the ascendancy.

I think Pakistan run the risk of overestimating their ability at times. They're a good team when they are energetic and actually looking to make a difference in the game. However, what we're seeing now is a carbon copy of the Sydney test when they started taking it easy and waited for wickets to come their way rather than being proactive.

despite their batting collapse,
the umpires have played a big part in pakistan losing ground today. aamers wicket and then ponting being given not out.

Watto you little ripper - 6fer. :happy

And once again proof that Dougie and Mitch will always struggle to bowl well in the traditional English conditions. They need to pitch it up a bit, but both of them are 'bang the ball in just short of a length as fast as possible' bowlers. I'm afraid it's what being brought up on Aussie pitches does for a bowler.

I dont know. Although its true both Mitch & Dogue are "back-of-a-lenght" style bowlers. I think Johnson has just bowled poorly in these 2 tests.

In South Africa 09 when the conditions where just as bowler friendly as these two tests. Johnson proves he could at least swing it when conditions are helpul.

Bollinger also was swinging the new-ball fairly often in non-seamer friendly conditons vs Windies/PAK/NZ recently. Having a bad two tests - hoepfully he can find his mojo in the final innings though.

In relation to KP bashing Katich's technique again  He got out because he fails in 2nd innings, not because he has a flaw in his technique. If you watch the replays (which I can't find yet) you will see that Katich moved way too far across when he got out, basically his whole leg stump was showing. He never moves this far. He was bowled in a similar way against Rampaul, shuffled a little too far and got his top of leg removed. I really can't understand why Katich bats the way he does in 2nd innings but I reckon he just pushes too hard at the ball which is not his style.

Watson again the star of the show with the ball, hes turning into our go to guy for bowling in test matches now. Looking at Johnson I think its safe to say he sucks in English conditions, Bollinger at least was economical in his spell.

They are a young team mind you. Not many teams dismiss Australia for 88. It's almost as if they don't know what do after dismissing Australia for such a low score. When things start to go against them after being in ascendancy for so long, they sort of drift off, going on the defensive and waiting for something to happen.

At least we have proven that we are capable of lasting five days and not giving up, the same cannot be said for Pakistan. So not surprised the bookies have those odds.

First post on my new iPad too, cool!

That's what I admire about Australia. Even though it looks as if they are in a hopeless situation, they somehow always find a way to weasel their way out and even snatch a win.

Cool. It would be much easier to do posts on an iPad rather than on my iPhone cause the dang screen is so small. :p

Oh yeah I hate using my iphone for most internet stuff, annoys me greatly. So far the ipad is awesome, so light, and the virtual keyboard is nice. Perfect for stuff I like to do. Not so good for watching videos and stuff that I havent bought on itunes (people actually buy stuff like videos on itunes???), i have no idea how to watch that stuff yet that is on one of my big portable hard drives, i'm sure there is an app that would help. hey thats the first time ive ever said 'app', what a douche I am! :facepalm:facepalm:facepalm
